Technical Sales & Business Development Lead

A leading provider of premium engineered solutions is seeking a technically qualified and commercially driven Technical Sales & Business Development Lead to grow our engineering products and solutions across Botswana. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical/engineering background, proven technical sales experience and the ability to engage customers on products, applications and solutions. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role involving regular site visits, new customer development, sales pipeline growth and securing high-value product, project and service opportunities.

• Drive high-value technical sales by understanding customer requirements and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Develop new markets, customers and business opportunities while growing existing accounts.
• Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, including CapEx projects and long-term service opportunities.
• Develop strong relationships with technical and commercial decision-makers across mining, industrial, power and infrastructure sectors.
• Conduct regular customer and site visits, providing technical input and identifying sales opportunities.
• Prepare and present technical proposals and support commercial negotiations through to closure.
• Work with internal technical and operations teams and OEMs to deliver practical, customised solutions.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
• Own agreed sales and growth targets, forecasting and pipeline reporting.

• Motswana
• Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Metallurgy or another relevant technical/engineering field. Business/Commerce qualification is an added advantage.
• 10-15 years' experience in technical sales, business development, key account management or a similar senior role within technical distribution, engineering solutions, heavy machinery, mining supply or related industries.
• Strong practical understanding of industrial equipment, engineering systems, applications and maintenance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle and close high-value deals.
• Strong network within Botswana's mining, industrial, utility or engineering sectors.
• Experience in an engineering stores, technical distribution, mining, workshop or industrial environment.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively.
