Job Description: SAP Lead - FMCG
Total Experience: 14 - 20 years
Role Type: Individual Contributor (IC)
Reporting To: Director - SAP
Role Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned SAP professional with 14 - 20 years of experience who has evolved from a hands-on SAP Developer into an Architect or Technical Lead, with strong expertise in designing and delivering enterprise SAP solutions.
The ideal candidate must have experience working with an FMCG organisation, either directly on the client side or through an implementation/consulting role serving FMCG clients. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong technical depth, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage senior stakeholders across business and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- SAP Architecture & Design: Drive SAP solution architecture, technical design, integration strategy, and scalability across business functions.
- Technical Expertise: Leverage strong hands-on experience in SAP development, customisation, enhancements, interfaces, and application architecture.
- Business Alignment: Translate business requirements into effective SAP solutions in collaboration with business leaders and functional teams.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior business stakeholders, IT leadership, external partners, and implementation teams to drive alignment and solution delivery.
- Solution Governance: Ensure adherence to SAP architecture standards, development best practices, performance optimization, and system integrity.
- Integration & Transformation: Support SAP landscape evolution, system integrations, upgrades, migrations, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Lead the resolution of complex technical issues and provide architectural guidance for critical business applications.
- Vendor & Partner Coordination: Work with SAP implementation partners and technology vendors to ensure solution quality and delivery effectiveness.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 14 - 20 years of overall SAP experience, with a strong foundation in hands-on SAP development.
- Demonstrated career progression from SAP Developer - Senior Developer/Technical Lead - Solution Architect/Technical Architect or an equivalent path.
- Experience in an FMCG organisation or with an SAP implementation partner/consulting firm serving FMCG clients.
- Strong understanding of SAP architecture, development frameworks, system integrations, and enterprise application landscapes.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and relevant SAP technologies; exposure to ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with business leadership and translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
