SeatGeek is an American online ticketing platform that sells primary and resale tickets for concerts, sports and other live events. Founded in 2009, it also provides ticketing software to teams and venues and hires engineers, data analysts and designers in New York. The company is headquartered in New York City, United States.

SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we’re simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry.

By catering to both consumers and enterprises, we’re powering a new, open entertainment ecosystem where fans have effortless access to experiences, and teams, venues, and shows have seamless access to their audiences. Because everyone should expect more from ticketing.

SeatGeek has an ever-evolving product that's reshaping the way the ticketing industry works. You’ll join the team responsible for ensuring SeatGeek.com is fast, reliable, and delivering joy to all of our fans.

What you'll do

  • Bring a passion for product to work with the SeatGeek design team and product managers to bring ideas to life to delight fans with AI-powered features
  • Mentor and grow web engineers across the organization as you remain on the cutting edge of AI feature development and tool use
  • Contribute to increasing the maturity of our front end tech strategy and stack with a focus on generative AI

What you have

  • 5+ years of professional experience in frontend software engineering, having led product initiatives end-to-end in recent years, preferably with user-facing AI
  • TypeScript/JavaScript: You have an exceptional grasp of the language. You keep up with the latest spec and look for every opportunity to use new features. You're familiar with at least one modern framework and client side rendering technique. We use TypeScript, React, and Next.js to create our user interfaces, although specific knowledge of those is not a prerequisite
  • UI & Product Instincts: You have feelings about how a web page should look and feel, care about the nuances of how users will work with the product you're building, and aim to build inclusive and accessible experiences. We don't expect you to be a visual designer, but we're looking for someone who can build on the work of our experienced design team and express opinions about how best to leverage AI
  • Architecture and Performance optimization: You are comfortable going deeper into the stack to untangle caching inefficiencies, and troubleshoot across a wide array of distributed systems that make up a dynamic web application. You know how to use monitors and testing to know if changes improved or degraded the experience. You know how to architect for performance and maintainability
  • Adaptability: You have comfort working full stack in Python when needed to get things done.  You have some experience with design tools like Figma or Sketch. If you've never worked with any of these in your life but want to fearlessly dive in, please still apply
