The STARS Lead Officer (SLO) is responsible for the efficient delivery of daily front of house operations and programs that enhance the security service and customer experience for the Client. The SLO must be comfortable working in a highly complex, fast paced, and collaborative culture. Training and guiding the front of house security team, the SLO verifies compliance with security procedures and policies, tracks audit readiness, and provides direction to ensure customer service requirements are met or exceeded. Reporting to the

Dublin Security Team Leaders (STL) the SLO works directly with colleagues, management, clients, and other vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures all team members are fluent with policies and procedures and that these are followed.
  • Checks daily with the team members to ensure they are suitably attired for duties (i.e., uniform) and have all tools required to perform their tasks (i.e., equipment, instructions etc.)
  • Ensures all team members have received appropriate and comprehensive training, identifies training gaps and plans additional training.
  • Under STLs’ supervision, delegates tasks and ensures all team members comply with given instructions to full and satisfactorily completion.
  • Ensures all incidents are responded to and reported.
  • Ensures that all equipment is managed, used, monitored and reports defective in line with policies / procedures.
  • Provides ad-hoc guidance and support to all team members.
  • Provides initial response and acts upon incidents / complaints / concerns / matters / faults related to the security services provided and safety of assets and escalates any issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the production and implementation of plans related to service delivery.
  • Demonstrates the core brand values and culture of both Securitas and the Client, promoting a positive image of our Client and Securitas at all times.
  • Ensures site documentation explaining site related duties and procedures are available at all times and officially acknowledged (i.e., by a signature).
  • On a regular basis, develops, reviews, maintains and updates security related documents and files related to the site. These would include but are not limited to: procedures, manuals, instructions, checklists, registry, logs.
  • Provides administrative support to management and all team members (i.e., compile reports, meeting minutes).
  • Ensures all information is recorded, filed accordingly and resolved (i.e., daily activity reports, training records, incident reports, maintenance tickets, etc). Attends relevant meetings to ensure all communications and objectives are understood and met in a timely manner.
  • Takes responsibility for actions and can works under own direction if required.
  • Supports decision-making process with accurate information as and when required.
  • Engages in upskilling of team members where applicable.
  • Assists the management team with any ad-hoc requests.

MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDS

  • Takes the initiative and leads by example within the team.
  • Encourages participation from others within the team, acknowledges team member’s individual successes.
  • Maintains a helpful, interested and courteous approach to team members, Client’s staff and the public.
  • Great understanding of the importance of front of house duties.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Calm professional manner.
  • Very good command of English language, both spoken and written.
  • Good computer skills. Must be comfortable with the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Show flexibility in relation to the hours of work in case of emergency situations or last-minute deadlines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Required: high school or higher form of education graduate. Educational exceptions may be considered based on professional experience.
  • Required: minimum five years’ experience of a front facing / customer service /corporate security, military, or law enforcement position providing a clear understanding of all day-to-day activities that surround the front of house operation in a corporate setting.
  • Desired: completed Securitas STARS front of house training.
  • Desired: three years’ experience of documented supervisory experience in one or more of security operations, service planning, service development or related operational fields.
  • Desired: experience with responding to security related audits.

COMPETENCIES (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing)

  • Very good oral and written communication skills required for preparing clear, concise, and grammatically correct materials and communicating information effectively to others.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual and stressful circumstances.
  • Strong customer service and service delivery orientation.
  • Ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Action oriented with a passion for getting things done quickly, efficiently, and properly.
  • Strong cross-group collaboration and relationship skills displayed whilst working with multiple teams and employees, clients, guests and vendors of all levels.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent ability to contribute independently to security teams front of house presence and reputation. Ability to familiarise themselves quickly with key stake holders and high-level clients and meeting their needs, sometimes with little to no notice.

  • Able to maintain awareness of personal safety and safety of others in a variety of situations and conditions, and coach others to do so.
  • May be exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Occasionally may be required to perform stressful and physical activity.
  • Required to work long hours without advance notice or significant breaks as needed.
  • Able to adjust schedule and working hours necessary to meet operational needs.
