Seoul Robotics builds three-dimensional perception software for lidar sensors and autonomous driving systems for factories, ports, logistics yards and airports. Its Level 5 Control Tower places sensors in the infrastructure rather than in the vehicles, and automakers use it to move vehicles automatically. The company is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.

About Seoul Robotics

Seoul Robotics builds autonomous driving systems for factories, ports, logistics yards, and airports. We offer two approaches: a vehicle-centric system, where autonomy runs on the vehicle itself, and an infrastructure-centric system, where the site coordinates and drives vehicles. That lets us automate whole operations, not just one vehicle at a time.

We work with global automakers and industry leaders, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Volvo CE, Mando, LG, and SKT. We are expanding quickly across ports, logistics yards, and airports.

We are an international team with members from more than 10 countries. English is our working language.

Mission of the Role

We are looking for a Senior Vehicle Electrical Systems Engineer to own the vehicle-level electrical architecture of our autonomous driving platform. You will define how our autonomy kit - compute, sensors, actuators, and control units - integrates electrically with the base vehicle, and set the electrical design standards. Our vehicles operate in outdoor industrial environments such as port container terminals and airport airside areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical architecture & design

    • Own the vehicle-level electrical architecture: power distribution, grounding and bonding, shielding, and circuit protection.
    • Translate system architecture and written requirements into electrical designs, and maintain traceability from requirement → schematic → harness → test.
    • Define the electrical interfaces between the autonomy kit and the base vehicle, and own the schematics, wiring diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), and harness drawings that govern them.
    • Design onboard communication networks (CAN / CAN-FD / Automotive Ethernet), including topology, termination, and shielding.
    • Design safety-related circuits - emergency-stop chains, interlocks, and fail-safe behavior.
    • Select and qualify wire, connectors, terminals, relays, and protection devices against the temperature, vibration, and ingress requirements of outdoor deployment.

    Analysis, integration & debug

    • Build, rework, and validate prototype harnesses and wiring; iterate designs from prototype through validation to production.
    • Lead electrical integration and bring-up on prototype and production vehicles, and drive root-cause analysis of vehicle-level electrical and communication issues.
    • Establish electrical inspection and test procedures.

    Lifecycle & collaboration

    • Own your designs across the full product lifecycle - concept, prototype, validation, deployment, and field sustainment.
    • Introduce and maintain electrical design standards and design-review processes.
    • Support prototype builds, vehicle testing, and field deployment alongside the embedded-hardware, firmware, mechanical, and vehicle-engineering teams, including travel to customer sites.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in vehicle electrical systems - automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway/industrial machinery, or robotic mobile platforms.
  • Demonstrated ownership of an electrical architecture from concept through vehicle integration and validation.
  • Deep knowledge of power distribution, grounding and bonding, shielding, circuit protection, and electrical interface design.
  • Proven ability to work from a system architecture and written requirements, and to keep designs traceable to them.
  • Hands-on harness design and prototyping: wiring diagrams, harness specifications, connector/terminal selection, and physical build and rework.
  • Ability to analyze or reverse-engineer an existing vehicle electrical system and document it accurately.
  • Vehicle-side troubleshooting with oscilloscope, multimeter, current probe, and CAN bus analyzer (e.g., CANoe / CANalyzer).
  • Willingness to work on vehicles in the field, including travel to customer sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior OEM or Tier-1 experience on automotive, commercial-vehicle, off-highway, ground-support-equipment (GSE), or special-purpose vehicle platforms.
  • Experience taking a vehicle program from prototype through volume production - design-for-manufacture and supplier/part qualification.
  • Knowledge of EMC, ESD, and electrical-transient requirements; environmental standards such as ISO 16750, ISO 7637, and IP ingress ratings.
  • Functional safety practice - ISO 26262, ISO 13849, or IEC 61508.
  • ECU- and MCU-based embedded hardware familiarity.
  • High-voltage / battery-electric powertrain platform experience.
  • Experience introducing electrical design standards and review processes to a team.
