Our Lanham, MD laboratory is looking for a Sample Login Technician to join their Sample Login team! In this Sample Login Technician position, you will play a crucial role in our sample management operations, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of laboratory processes. You will be responsible for handling, managing, and logging samples while maintaining strict adherence to laboratory protocols and quality standards. This role requires a methodical approach to work, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Job functions:
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Interact with clients, both in person and over the phone.
- Receive, organize, and log laboratory samples according to established protocols and chain-of-custody procedures to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met.
- Perform data entry and maintain laboratory information systems with precision and accuracy.
- Communicate with customers and laboratory personnel to resolve problems.
- Prepare samples for testing by performing appropriate preprocessing, labeling, and documentation.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Conduct routine quality control checks and document results accurately.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all sample activities, test results, and equipment maintenance.
- Follow all laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or procedural concerns to supervisory staff.
- Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Support the efficient workflow of the laboratory by coordinating with other team members.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Excellent typing skills and proficiency in data entry
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow complex instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively collaborate in a diverse team environment
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems standard laboratory equipment and instruments (preferred)
- Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in sample management or testing (preferred)
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards (preferred)
- Proficiency in sample preparation, handling, and storage techniques (preferred)
Compensation
The expected hourly rate for this position is $18.00. This position is eligible for overtime pay. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
