Job Description

The Practice Supervisor, provides leadership, direction, and support to practice staff to promote safe, high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations. This role monitors staff performance, ensures adherence to policies and standards, and fosters a collaborative, professional environment. The supervisor supports onboarding, education, and performance improvement initiatives, while serving as a resource for patients, families, and staff in alignment with Shriners Children's mission, vision, and core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises orientation and ongoing staff education, ensuring clear, consistent communication of roles, expectations, and practice standards

• Coaches and evaluates staff performance; contributes to appraisals and fosters open, constructive feedback as part of team development

• Facilitates meetings, huddles, and trainings to support team-based care and strengthen collaboration with physicians and interprofessional colleagues
• Oversees daily practice operations, including staff scheduling, workflow coordination, and ensuring adequate coverage across all areas in collaboration with the Practice Manager

• Monitors staff attendance, professionalism, and adherence to departmental standards; addresses performance issues and serves as a resource in resolving patient care concerns

• Leads staff training and development efforts; supports EMR super-user responsibilities and promotes continuous learning

• Coordinates efficient patient flow, including rooming, discharge processes, and interdisciplinary communication to optimize clinical operations

• Contributes to policy development, staff communication strategies, and initiatives that support family-centered care, patient advocacy, and departmental goals
• Attends required meetings, in-services, and complete ongoing education, and competency training

• Participates in department performance improvement

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma / GED

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2 Years Ambulatory/Physician Practice experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Management, Public Health or related field
• 1 Year Supervisor/Leadership /Clinic setting experience
• 2 Years Orthopedic/Pediatric experience
• EPIC experience
• Medical Assistant Certificate

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
