Building Security Systems Technician

Position Location: This role supports our Worthington, OH branch location, which serves customers throughout the greater Columbus, OH area.

Security System Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible forthe installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-artintegrated security systems, including cctvor ipcameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. Our Security System Technicians are the face of Siemens,and your expertiseand regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

As a Security System Technician, you will:

• Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance: Run routine reports to review system operation. Participate in final inspection and testing. Support customer acceptance. Assist with customer training on system operations. Complete and submit routine written reports. Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation
• Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination: May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate start-up services as needed

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large-scale integrated security systems.
• Experience programming, configuring, and commissioning enterprise access control systems, including servers, controllers, readers, credentials, permissions, and system integrations.
• Working knowledge of network components and workstation/server operating systems.
• Must be willing and able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment,working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 poundsunassisted
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
• High school diploma or state-recognized GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
• Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $49,195 - $84,334 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
