Embedded Firmware Developer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Software & Firmware Development

A passionate Embedded Software and Firmware Engineer who can contribute to the design, development, and testing of innovative Access Control solutions while collaborating with global teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products.

You'll make a difference by:

• Participating in the review of software and firmware requirements with relevant stakeholders to ensure clear and complete specifications.
• Analyzing software and firmware requirements and developing detailed design and test specification documentation.
• Designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining embedded software and firmware for Access Control Systems.
• Collaborating with cross-functional and global project teams to deliver high-quality embedded solutions.
• Leveraging and reusing existing frameworks, modules, and libraries to accelerate development and improve product quality.
• Developing and optimizing software for Linux- and RTOS-based environments.
• Implementing and validating communication protocols such as RS485, CAN, BACnet, I2C, SPI, and Industrial Ethernet.
• Working closely with hardware teams to integrate firmware with microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
• Performing system-level debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Reviewing schematics, component datasheets, and hardware documentation to support development activities.
• Supporting verification, validation, defect resolution, and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong programming experience in C and C++.
• 3-5 years of experience in Embedded Software and Firmware Development.
• Experience with Linux (any flavor) and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as VxWorks, LynxOS, eCos, RTLinux, Nucleus, or UCOS.
• Hands-on experience with communication protocols including RS485, CAN, BACnet, I2C, SPI, and Industrial Ethernet.
• Strong understanding of microcontrollers and CPU architectures such as x86, ARM, and DSP.
• Expertise in Linux system programming and scripting.
• Experience in software design, requirement analysis, and test specification development.
• Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics and component datasheets.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience in firmware development for Access Control products.
• Familiarity with Python scripting and application development.
• Exposure to Angular for user interface development.
• Knowledge of embedded security concepts and device communication architectures.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Understanding of software quality processes and engineering best practices.

• Engineering degree in B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/MCA or equivalent qualification.
• 3-5 years of meaningful experience in Software and Firmware Development.
• Strong understanding of embedded system architecture and real-time software development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with global teams.
• Ability to take ownership of technical deliverables and drive tasks to completion.
