Key Responsibilities
1. Work Measurement & Time Studies
- Conduct time studies using MOST/MTM/Stopwatch methods.
- Develop and maintain Standard Times, Process Charts, and Work Instructions.
- Support line balancing and manpower estimation for existing and new product lines.
2. Productivity & Process Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and recommend improvement actions.
- Participate in Kaizen, 5S, and waste elimination (Muda) activities.
- Assist in improving OEE, cycle time reduction, and NVA elimination.
3. Layout Engineering & Material Flow
- Support creation and modification of plant layouts, workstation designs, and ergonomic improvements.
- Study material handling patterns and propose optimized flow systems.
- Assist in designing PFEP (Plan for Every Part), Kanban loops, and point-of-use storage.
4. Capacity Planning & Data Analysis
- Contribute to machine capacity calculations, utilization analysis, and production planning inputs.
- Maintain IE-related databases, dashboards, and reports.
- Perform data analysis to provide insights for decision-making.
5. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support
- Evaluate manufacturability and provide input on tooling, fixtures, and process steps.
- Prepare process documentation such as SOPs, FMEA inputs, and process capability studies.
- Support trial runs and validation of new equipment or processes.
6. Lean & Continuous Improvement
- Implement Lean tools such as VSM, Kanban, SMED, Poka-Yoke, JIT, and standard work.
- Drive small-cost automation ideas and low-cost productivity improvements.
- Promote continuous improvement culture across teams.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of MOST/MTM, time study, and work measurement
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and IE tools
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations
- Basic knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement tools
- Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Qualification & Experience
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 5-10 years of experience in Industrial Engineering or manufacturing environment
- Certification in MOST/MTM or Lean Six Sigma (preferred but not mandatory)
