Siemens is a German technology conglomerate founded in Berlin in 1847 by Werner von Siemens around a telegraph that indicated letters rather than Morse code. After a decade of divestments it now concentrates on industry, infrastructure, transport and healthcare, supplying factory automation and control systems, building and grid technology, trains and signalling, and the Teamcenter and NX design software acquired through a long run of software purchases. The Siemens Xcelerator platform ties hardware to software and digital twins, and the group retains a majority stake in the separately listed medical imaging company Siemens Healthineers.

Here at Siemens, we take pride in enabling sustainable progress through technology. We do this through empowering customers by combining the real and digital worlds. Improving how we live, work, and move today and for the next generation! We know that the only way a business thrives is if our people are thriving. That’s why we always put our people first. Our global, diverse team would be happy to support you and challenge you to grow in new ways. Who knows where our shared journey will take you?

We are looking for an Operations Safety Manager to lead and strengthen operational safety across all EA manufacturing plants. This role provides enterprise-level direction, governance, and hands-on support to plant leadership and local EHS teams, with a primary focus on preventing injuries, reducing operational risk, and standardizing safe work practices across the EA plant network.

The Operations Safety Manager will partner closely with plant managers, operations leaders, engineering, maintenance, People Partners, and EHS professionals to ensure safety is integrated into daily manufacturing operations, production planning, equipment changes, projects, and continuous improvement activities.

You’llmake an impact by:

  • Champion a Zero Harm culture across all EA plants, protecting Siemens employees, contractors, visitors, and customers.
  • Provide operational safety leadership and technical support to Trayer, San Antonio, Heber Springs, Wendell, PACS, FORGE, and SieSAW.
  • Develop and execute a multi-site operational safety strategy aligned with EA business priorities, manufacturing risks, and EHS objectives.
  • Establish, standardize, and continuously improve safe work practices across EA manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with plant leaders and local EHS teams to identify high-risk operations and implement effective engineering, administrative, and work-practice controls.
  • Lead or support risk assessments for production processes, machinery, material handling, electrical work, maintenance activities, fabrication, assembly, testing, and other plant operations.
  • Support safety-by-design for new equipment, production lines, facility modifications, capital projects, and operational changes.
  • Strengthen critical safety programs, including machine safety, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, material handling, ergonomics, contractor safety, and powered industrial truck safety.
  • Lead and support serious incident and high-potential near-miss investigations, identify systemic causes, and ensure corrective actions are effective and shared across the plant network.
  • Develop common safety metrics, dashboards, and review routines to identify trends, prioritize risk reduction, and improve accountability.
  • Facilitate cross-site learning by sharing lessons learned, effective controls, and operational safety best practices.
  • Conduct site assessments, audits, and field observations; communicate findings clearly and support timely corrective-action closure.
  • Provide coaching and technical guidance to operations leaders, supervisors, employees, and EHS professionals on operational safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Support consistent safety training, competency development, and leadership engagement across all EA plants.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable OSHA requirements, Siemens standards, and recognized industry practices.
  • Collaborate with regional and U.S. EHS specialists and other Siemens EHS teams as required.
  • Travel up to 25% regularly among EA plant locations to maintain strong field visibility and support site needs.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, occupational safety, engineering, industrial technology, or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of experience in a technical EHS or operational safety role within manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Five - eight years of experience leading safety programs, projects, or teams across functions or locations.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
  • Experience recognizing, evaluating, and controlling hazards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence plant and operations leaders without relying solely on direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear procedures, present to leadership, and translate technical risk into practical actions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and build alignment across geographically dispersed sites.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to EA manufacturing plants and attend EHS meetings or conferences as required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or comparable professional certification.
  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites or leading safety standardization across a plant network.
  • Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and integrated management systems.
  • Experience with machine safety, electrical safety, ergonomics, incident investigation, risk assessment, and operational excellence methods.
  • Demonstrated success using data, leading indicators, and continuous improvement methods to reduce operational risk.
