Siemens is a German technology conglomerate founded in Berlin in 1847 by Werner von Siemens around a telegraph that indicated letters rather than Morse code. After a decade of divestments it now concentrates on industry, infrastructure, transport and healthcare, supplying factory automation and control systems, building and grid technology, trains and signalling, and the Teamcenter and NX design software acquired through a long run of software purchases. The Siemens Xcelerator platform ties hardware to software and digital twins, and the group retains a majority stake in the separately listed medical imaging company Siemens Healthineers.

Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

Position Overview

At Siemens Digital Industries, we carry out cutting-edge research on AI models for the Design and Manufacturing industry. • Define and run rigorous evaluation frameworks and benchmarks to ensure model quality, robustness, and reliability
  • Turn innovative ideas into patents and shipped product features, partnering closely with engineering, product, and domain experts
  • Mentor engineers and set high technical standards across research, experimentation, and productionization

Qualifications

  • Strong track record delivering advanced AI systems from research through to production at a senior level
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in modern AI, including large language models, generative AI, and agentic architectures
  • Proven ability to design and build novel model architectures and iterate rapidly toward measurable outcomes
  • Solid experience with automated training pipelines, training orchestration, and scalable model evaluation
  • Practical experience applying reinforcement learning in real product or research settings
  • Excellent Python skills and strong software engineering fundamentals for building reliable, maintainable AI systems
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, thriving in a fast-paced, cross-functional team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with model fine-tuning, RLHF, or building agentic tool-use systems
  • Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, or structured enterprise data
