SRM Backend & Tools Engineer

About the project: Technical backbone of the entire SRM system. Covers Oracle database administration, SRM-Tools operation & development, and the full product data acquisition chain. All tools are implemented in Tcl/Tk.

Core Responsibilities:

• Administration of Oracle databases SZEN (central coordination) & SPRO (production data)
• Management of SZEN/SPRO table replication incl. conflict resolution
• Operation of the SRM product data acquisition toolchain (ClearCase-based)
• Event-driven data provisioning from Stage-VoBs into the data cache
• Administration, monitoring (Watchdog) & XML generation (TclXML)
• SAP integration (order intake, V-status, license obligation)
• TeamCenter integration (product definitions, archiving, CC-status transfer)
• Interface management: Saperion, OpenFT, NetApp

Required at Onboarding:

• Oracle database administration experience (operations, maintenance, troubleshooting)
• Strong SQL skills (maintenance tasks, error analysis)
• Conceptual understanding of ClearCase or comparable version control (VoB structures, labels, attributes)
• Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, Perl or comparable - Tcl/Tk will be trained on the job)
• Basic understanding of system integration & interface architectures (SAP, PLM tools, file transfer)
• Tcl/Tk experience
• OpenFT, NetApp & Saperion interface know-how

Skills to be Learned On the Job:

• SRM-specific database logic: SZEN & SPRO structure, replication, conflict resolution
• ClearCase detail: SRM status logic (Experimental, Preliminary, Released) & VoB structures
• SAP integration: order intake, V-status & license obligation logic
• TeamCenter integration: product definitions, CC-status transfer & archiving
• Event-driven data provisioning: Stage-VoB loading, provisioning rules & cache management
• Tcl/Tk codebase familiarization, adaptations & full tool development (GUI, Watchdog, TclXML)
• SRM-Tools extensions & database enhancements for data consistency & quality
