More about the role
- Assist mechanical engineers in the design and development of lighting products, components, and assemblies.
- Create and update 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Support prototype build, assembly, and testing activities.
- Conduct mechanical performance evaluations, including thermal, structural, and manufacturability assessments.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute engineering ideas for product improvement.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize test data and prepare technical reports.
- Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of product design issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics, optics, quality, sourcing, and manufacturing.
- Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist with benchmarking competitor products and technology research.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance, cost reduction, and manufacturability.
Qualifications
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or NX.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, die casting, injection molding, and machining.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Knowledge of thermal management or lighting product design is an advantage.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with engineering projects, competitions, or laboratory work.
- Knowledge of simulation tools such as ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar software.
- Interest in lighting, consumer products, or product development.
