We are looking for an experienced Industrial Data Platform Engineer to join a unique hybrid role that bridges modern cloud-native software delivery and industrial shop-floor systems within highly regulated life sciences environments. You will be responsible for deploying, integrating, validating, and maintaining secure and GxP-compliant MQTT-based data pipelines running on Kubernetes, ensuring seamless data flow from physical plant floor assets to enterprise analytical systems. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere from Poland while contributing to impactful projects.
Your tasks
Deploying and scaling highly available MQTT brokers within Kubernetes environments using Helm, CRDs, and Operators
Optimizing MQTT cluster connectivity and message queues specifically tailored for high-volume, low-latency factory tag processing
Configuring persistent container volumes for reliable message persistence and managing low-latency Kubernetes network plugins
Establishing robust interfaces between IT networks and OT plant systems, integrating with SCADA, MES, and PLC networks
Deploying and maintaining edge gateways that translate industrial protocols into standardized MQTT payloads
Authoring and automating installation and operational qualification validation protocols within containerized environments
Enforcing strict GitOps deployment patterns to ensure audit readiness for configuration changes
Building and securing automated pipelines utilizing GitHub and ArgoCD or Flux
Deploying and supporting monitoring platforms to track cluster health and edge connection lifecycles
Configuring alerts to catch anomalies before they impact manufacturing operations
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps engineering with a strong focus on Kubernetes and MQTT
Deep expertise in managing Kubernetes operations, including Helm, CRDs, and Operators
Hands-on mastery of MQTT broker management and performance tuning for industrial applications
Practical experience with industrial OT protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, and Profinet
Solid understanding of GxP/CSV validation and data integrity principles
Strong command of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and GitOps methodologies
Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki
Familiarity with automated CSV processes and regulatory compliance in life sciences
Fluent English
