Job Title: IT Technician

Reporting To: IT Manager

Location: Harare

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to provide technical support, maintain and troubleshoot IT systems across restaurants and offices. The successful candidate will diagnose hardware, software and network faults, support Point of Sale (POS) systems, perform preventive maintenance, maintain IT documentation and provide professional technical support. The candidate must have strong technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Provide first-line and on-site technical support to users across restaurants and offices.
* Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers and other IT equipment.
* Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, Wi-Fi and connectivity faults.
* Install, configure and troubleshoot Point of Sale (POS) systems and related equipment.
* Perform preventive maintenance on IT equipment and identify potential system failures.
* Respond to technical support requests and complete repairs within required timeframes.
* Maintain IT asset registers, service records, work orders and technical documentation.
* Support user accounts, passwords, access rights, email and standard business applications.
* Assist with new restaurant openings, IT installations, system upgrades and equipment deployment.
* Maintain IT equipment, tools and spare parts and report equipment or parts requirements.
* Escalate major or recurring technical issues to the appropriate IT support team.
* Follow company IT, information security, workplace health and safety procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field (minimum requirement).
* A degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
* Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
* Working knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP and basic network troubleshooting.
* Experience supporting POS systems will be an added advantage.
* Experience in a food service, retail or multi-site environment will be an added advantage.
* A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
* High levels of integrity, accountability, professionalism and customer service.

LOCATION PREFERENCE

Preference will be given to candidates based in Harare who can provide timely on-site technical support to Simbisa Brands outlets in Harare and surrounding areas.
