SimCorp is a Danish financial software company founded in Copenhagen in 1971 that supplies the investment management system used by asset managers, pension funds, insurers and sovereign wealth funds. Its Dimension platform runs the front-to-back workflow of an investment institution in a single data model, covering portfolio management, order execution, risk, performance measurement, accounting and regulatory reporting, so that positions do not have to be reconciled between separate systems. The company was acquired by Deutsche Börse in 2023 and continues to operate from Copenhagen with offices across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US:

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing procurement and management of specific categories of goods and services - with a primary focus on Marketing & Communications - ensuring alignment with business objectives, cost-efficiency, and compliance with procurement policies. This role also plays a key part in building structured procurement processes and developing the tools and frameworks that support them.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Support the Marketing & Communications category, acting as the primary procurement partner for those business teams and managing their supplier ecosystem end-to-end
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with SimCorp's business goals and operational requirements
  • Drive structured, process-oriented procurement execution: managing intake, vendor accreditation, due diligence, contracting, and renewals in a consistent and scalable manner
  • Lead vendor accreditation and due diligence processes when onboarding new suppliers, coordinating across legal, compliance, and finance stakeholders
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring suppliers meet performance expectations and service levels
  • Support the development and implementation of back-office procurement tools and process improvements across functions
  • Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate options, and recommend cost-effective solutions
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and ensure procurement activities support their goals
  • Monitor supplier performance against SLAs, quality standards, and contractual obligations
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations, mitigating risk across all procurement activities
  • Analyze spend data and report on key metrics including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes and increase operational efficiency
  • Lead procurement for complex or high-value contracts, including tendering, evaluation, and negotiation
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior category managers and procurement staff

TYPE OF WORK THIS ROLE ENGAGES WITH:

  • Day-to-day procurement operations for the Marketing & Communications function, including briefing, supplier selection, PO management, and vendor governance
  • Vendor onboarding: coordinating accreditation, due diligence reviews, and supplier registration processes
  • Procurement tooling: identifying gaps in back-office systems and contributing to the development or rollout of new tools across procurement functions
  • Spend management: processing and analyzing spend data to segment suppliers, identify savings, and drive consolidation opportunities
  • Close coordination with SAM on tool rationalization, licensing optimization, and cost governance
  • Supporting governance principles such as avoiding overlap, optimizing vendor portfolios, and managing compliance risk

WHAT WE VALUE:

  • 3 years or more of experience in category management and procurement, ideally with exposure to Marketing & Communications or similar indirect categories
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end procurement lifecycle (intake, vendor accreditation, contracting, renewal)
  • Experience running structured procurement processes and working with cross-functional stakeholders including suppliers, legal, finance, and business teams
  • Exposure to procurement tool implementation or back-office process development
  • Ability to work closely with business stakeholders to deliver value while mitigating risk
  • Good analytical skills with keen attention to detail
  • Advanced English communication skills, verbal and written

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to work in the EMEA time zone
  • 2x RTO per week
