The Simonds story all started with Gary Simonds. Building quality homes to suit all types of lifestyles and budgets since 1949.

WHY TEAM SIMONDS?

The Simonds story all started in 1949 with a passionate family man, Gary Simonds. He envisioned a builder that Australians could rely on to guide them through the process of crafting their perfect home. This vision remains at the heart of Simonds today with our commitment to making the Great Australian Dream a reality by placing home ownership within Australia’s reach.

Becoming part of Team Simonds means becoming part of the family. Our people are the heart of what we do. Our homes are built for the community, by the community, with a local network of employees, trades and supplies all working towards this vision. It is this passion, dedication, and excellence that you will find on every Simonds job site, office, and display centre across the country. Today, we stand proudly as an ASX listed & leading national builder servicing customers across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

Simonds has helped shape Australia. Few can say that. Whether we’re looking back at the homes of yesteryear, what we’re building now, or everything that’s still to come. We’ve not only shaped what Australia looks like, but more importantly, how Australia homes.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Data Engineer at Simonds, you'll play a key role in building and evolving our modern data platform. Reporting to the Analytics Manager, you'll design and maintain data integration pipelines, support cloud data initiatives, and help deliver reliable, high-quality data that drives business decisions.

Working across a variety of business systems, you'll collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to improve data accessibility, streamline integrations and support enterprise reporting and enterprise analytics.

In this role, you'll:

  • Design, build and maintain data integration pipelines using Boomi AtomSphere and SSIS and other enterprise integration technologies.
  • Develop ETL/ELT processes and SQL-based data models to support reporting and analytics.
  • Support the migration of data into modern cloud platforms, including Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric or similar technologies.
  • Optimise data pipelines for performance, reliability and scalability.
  • Improve data quality through validation, governance and best practice.
  • Partner with the Analytics Manager, IT teams and vendors to deliver innovative data solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and continuously improve the data environment.

WHO YOU ARE

You're a hands-on Data Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and building scalable data solutions. You're adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, able to shift priorities, pick up new challenges quickly and move seamlessly between competing demands. You work well independently, collaborate effectively with others and take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.

You'll bring:

  • 4-6 years' experience in a Data Engineering role.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development using SSIS or similar tools.
  • Experience with Boomi AtomSphere or another enterprise integration platform (such as MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services or Informatica).
  • Strong SQL and T-SQL skills.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake or Databricks.
  • An understanding of data warehousing, data modelling and API integrations.
  • Exposure to Power BI and Python will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, with the ability to shift priorities, pick up new challenges quickly and move seamlessly between competing demands.

Relevant tertiary qualifications are preferred, while Boomi, Azure or Snowflake certifications will be viewed favourably.
