Job Description
For our client in Boxmeer, we are looking for a Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician to support large-scale cell and virus culture processes used to produce vaccine antigens. This role is hands-on in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment and focuses on executing and coordinating production activities safely, accurately, and within planned timelines. The Bioreactor Operations Technician also contributes to improvement initiatives to optimize processes and ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and support production runs, including culture preparation and media preparation
- Execute production activities in a complex bioprocess environment, such as: Cell culture and virus culture, Inactivation steps, Operating and monitoring bioreactors/fermenters, Working with centrifuges, filtration systems, vessels, and single-use bioreactor equipment
- Record all activities accurately and complete batch documentation in line with procedures
- Work strictly according to GMP and EHS requirements in classified/controlled areas
- Identify, report, and help investigate deviations; contribute to accurate deviation documentation
- Support continuous improvement by proposing and driving process and workflow optimizations
- Share knowledge within the team through training-on-the-job and daily collaboration
- Participate in project groups focused on process and supporting-process improvements
- Support production trending and help assess process performance over time
- Be flexible to support on-call duties and occasional weekend work, with the possibility of shifted working patterns in the future
Requirements
- Completed vocational education (MBO level 3/4) in Biotechnology, Process Technology, or similar
- Interest in bioprocessing within a regulated manufacturing environment (GMP)
- Experience in aseptic/controlled environments (e.g., cleanroom or biosafety cabinet) is a plus, but starters are also welcome
- Affinity with virology, bacteriology, microbiology, and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing techniques
- Strong quality and safety mindset; able to follow procedures and work accurately
- Able to stay calm under pressure and set priorities
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English
- Team player with a proactive, hands-on attitude
