Job Description:

Independently own and execute large-scale engineering projects across eligibility processing, identity, and client configuration systems
Design and build scalable backend architectures to support 50x data growth across Modern Health's platform
Partner with product managers and internal operations teams to define requirements, use cases, and edge cases for complex initiatives
Collaborate with a senior staff engineer to sequence and deliver against a multi-year growth engineering roadmap
Mentor and guide more junior engineers through technical leadership and code collaboration
Own and scale critical backend systems powering client launches and member access

Requirements:

8+ years of experience in backend software engineering
8-15 years of experience in backend software engineering, with focus on Python (Django/Flask); staff-leveling
Experience leading complex, full-stack projects end-to-end independently
Experience designing scalable architectures handling large data growth (e.g., 50x)
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
Strong cross-functional collaboration with product and operations stakeholders
Bachelor's degree preferred
Open to bootcamps and self-taught candidates
Remote work eligibility within the US, excluding Hawaii
