Character Surfacing Trainee

Skydance Animation Madrid is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Character Surfacing trainee to join our studio!

Our Internship Program offers its own unique learning opportunities. You will have the chance to network and meet with Skydance leaders, learn transferable skills, and gain real-world experience. It is an ideal experience for those moving from the classroom to the industry.

Responsibilities

• Creates textures using Substance Designer and pre-existing textures.
• Paints stylized textures from concepts following the look of the show.
• Creates procedural textures from Substance Designer, and applies them in Substance Painter, or Houdini.
• Has the ability to create, adapt, and iterate within a variety of artistic styles.
• Works with the Production team, Art Director and Visual Effects Supervisor to create the desired look for characters that may reflect any of a wide variety of styles.
• Has strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation is a must.
• Working knowledge of Rizom, Maya, UVLayout, and Houdini.
• Assists other team members when necessary.
• Follows the tutor's guidance.

Requirements

• Strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation is a must.
• Knowledge of Substance Painter, uvWorkflow, Maya.
• Must be available for at least 3 months onsite (from Monday until Friday, 35h/week).
• Must be currently enrolled in your last year in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s program at an accredited institution.
• Self-starter with proficient writing and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Highly motivated and interested in Animation and Technology.
• Good team player!
• High English level.
• Spanish desirable.
