Full Time Journeyman Baker

Location: Broadway Bakery - Commissary

Reports to: Bakery Manager

Classification: Union

Rate of Pay: Progressive scale up to $29.98 hour / depending on experience

Hours: Sunday - Saturday, varied hours

Individuals applying for this position should be willing to:

• Make lasting connections with our customers
• Prepare bakery products including a variety of donuts, cakes, and breads
• Fill and rotate cases and displays (may be some heavy lifting-up to 50lbs)
• Assist with merchandising and receiving products to keep our shelves full
• Create and manage weekly work schedules for the entire team
• Train and develop future bakery employees
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary store
• Work with the team on all tasks necessary to have an awesome department

• Has experience working in a bakery (2-3 years preferred)
• Knows about pastries, breads, ovens, and good food
• Understands math and can follow recipes provided by Jerry’s

Position functions and physical responsibilities may vary by store location.

FREQUENT:

Physical

· lifting/carrying to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling over 50 force lbs. (unloading bakery ingredients and supplies)

· walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting

· repetitive motion: turning, bending

Equipment Operation:

· scanner, scale, label machine, mixer, oven, donut fryer, donut glazer, pan washer, bread slicer, scraper, knives, box cutter, baker rack, pallet jack

Mental:

· judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math, basic computer skills

Environmental:

· extended exposure to varied temperatures and wet surfaces, working with hot grease

OCCASIONAL:

Physical

· lifting/carrying over 50 lbs., equipment operation (calculator), climbing ladders, kneeling

**FREQUENT: 15% of the work shift or at least ten repetitions per work shift

**OCCASIONAL: Approximately less than 15% of the work shift or fewer than 10 repetitions per work shift
