We offer hybrid working which involves 3 days per weekbeing office/site based. This position is based in ourBelfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds,Manchesteror Newcastleoffices.
Your role

As an ICA Engineering Associate Director in the D&AT practice, the successful candidate would have the following responsibilities:
- Own and direct a team of Electrical & ICA engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects following relevant client and project specific design codes and standards, and to high-quality levels.
- Successfully manage time and budgets of the Electrical & ICA team to key project milestones and programmes.
- Responsible for directing and reviewing technical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, Control Philosophies, ControlNetwork Architecture.
- Provide technical leadership into project design deliverables for ICA aspects of complex multi-disciplinary projects and work with the project management team to successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
- Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities within your immediate team and other related AtkinsRéalis teams.
- Provide direction and guidance to Senior and Principal colleagues.
- Lead the growth of local Electrical & ICA team and the wider Electrical & ICA technical network.
- Work independently with minimal technical guidance. Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems where appropriateand provide guidance to Senior and Principal team members.
- Provide technical support and direction for bid proposals.
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Setting quality assurance standards in design and ensure compliance from Electrical & ICA teams.
- Leading business development initiatives to drive growth of water market.
About you
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer.
- Proven experience in leading or directing an Electrical & ICA engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy includingwithin a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Takesbroadperspective to identifyinnovative solutions to design problems.
- Requires comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in ICA designs.
- Extensive knowledge of water company design codes and standards as well as industry best practices, such as WIMES.
- Strong awareness of HAZOP assessments, lightning strike risk assessments, earthing and bonding, lighting designs, DSEAR and ATEX installation practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance.
- Experience in watermarket is preferred but not required.
- Experience in industrial and process environmentis essential.
- Demonstrates strong communicationskills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively within diverse multi-disciplinary teams.
- A proactive, highly motivated mindset with a collaborative approach to drive teamwork and sharedsuccess across projects.
