We’re looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Lead to take full ownership of our hiring function and build the team that builds SmartGrass.

This isn’t about posting ads and waiting.

It’s about recognising exceptional talent, proactively finding it, and building a recruitment function that supports a high-growth business.

What You’ll Own

• End-to-end recruitment across NZ

• Proactive sourcing and headhunting of high-calibre talent

• Screening, interviewing and assessing candidates across multiple business functions

• Partnering with our marketing team on targeted recruitment campaigns

• Continuous improvement of recruitment systems and processes (including AI integration)

• Delivering realistic job previews and maintaining high hiring standards

• Offers, pre-start experience and onboarding oversight

• The opportunity to expand into broader people and HR leadership responsibilities as the business grows

• Hiring a large diversity of roles - from our salt-of-the-earth installers, to our legends-in-loafers leadership team.

You’ll be given the autonomy to shape how recruitment is run - with leadership support and clear expectations around quality and performance.

Who This Will Suit

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has significant experience leading recruitment in-house or at a senior agency level

• Brings established professional networks

• Is confident assessing talent at all levels of the business

• Understands what high performance looks like

• Is commercially minded and growth-focused

Our Head Office is based in Christchurch (HQ), however this role can be based in Auckland or Wellington as we recruit across all regions. For the right person, there is flexibility around hybrid working arrangements.
