Our client, a boutique law firm in estate planning and probate for high-net-worth individuals and small business owners, is seeking a well-experienced Estate Planning and Probate Paralegal to join their in-office team in Sugar Land, Texas. Role Overview:
You will assist attorneys in delivering exceptional service to valued clients, supporting estate planning and uncontested probate matters from start to finish. This is a hands-on, client-facing position for a proactive professional who thrives in a supportive, high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft estate planning and probate documents and packages.
- Compile, draft, and assemble estate planning packages based on skill, attorney notes and client questionnaires.
- Gather any missing information from clients.
- Prepare, organize, and participate in signings (Notary Public required, or ability to obtain).
- Review legal documents for logical inconsistencies and errors.
- Provide organizational support to attorneys, keeping track of client matters and court dockets.
- Draft professional client communications via email. Respond promptly to client inquiries. Keep clients informed about status, as needed.
- Maintain organized electronic files.
Requirements
- 8+ years of estate planning paralegal experience
- 8+ years of probate paralegal experience
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong English, spelling, grammar, and proofing skills
- Accurate keyboarding (80wpm+)
- Ability to read cursive writing
- Business professional attire and appearance
- Superior communication skills with domestic and international clients
- Proactive, accountable, and detail-oriented
- Team player who thrives in a culture of support and shared success
- Empathic communicator and active listening skills
Must have
- Advanced-level estate planning paralegal experience
- Advanced-level probate paralegal experience
