Solvay is a Belgian chemical company headquartered in Brussels that produces essential chemicals such as soda ash and bicarbonate, peroxides, silica, rare earths and specialty products for consumer goods, construction, agriculture, automotive and industrial markets. Founded in 1863 by Ernest Solvay, it is listed on Euronext Brussels and Paris and, after the 2023 separation of its specialty business into Syensqo, employs around 9,000 people at production sites worldwide. It hires research and innovation leaders, process safety and maintenance engineers, planning and inspection technicians, SAP leads, supply chain interns and German apprentices in automation.

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation, upkeep, and safety of our chemical plant facilities and equipment. You will spend the majority of your time in the field coaching team members, optimizing maintenance processes, and moving the manufacturing operation from a reactionary repair mode to a proactive, orderly system.

    • Managing store inventory including the procurement, storage, labeling, and inventory control of all machinery, equipment, and spare parts.
    • Driving continuous reliability through identifying, scoping, and executing small projects, while tracking costs and activities using the CMMS (RCS) system.
    • Overseeing team development by managing the maintenance training program, monitoring mechanic progress, and adjusting training plans as needed.
  • We offer employment based onsite.

About you

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Requires 5 or more years of experience in a chemical plant or related industry, including at least 3 years working directly in maintenance.

Competencies:

    • Ability to provide mechanical and electrical expertise to help mechanics perform high-quality, reliable repairs.
    • Strict enforcement of safety regulations, regular risk assessments, safety audits, and mandatory PPE compliance (including respirators, hard hats, and acid-resistant clothing).
    • Proficient in managing computer maintenance software, data entry/retrieval, purchase requisitions, and accounts payable verification.

Behaviors:

    • Growth
    • Agility
    • Prioritization
