Sony Group is a Japanese conglomerate founded in Tokyo in 1946 by Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita, which grew from transistor radios and the Walkman into one of the broadest entertainment and technology businesses in the world. Its largest profit engine is PlayStation, run by Sony Interactive Entertainment, followed by a music division holding some of the biggest recorded and publishing catalogues, Sony Pictures, and the Alpha camera and Bravia display lines. Less visible but strategically central is its semiconductor arm, which supplies the majority of the world's smartphone image sensors, alongside a substantial financial services business in Japan.

For our IC Design Centre, we are seeking a motivated and dedicated Analog Design Engineering Intern to join our international team. Depending on experience, the intern will work on the implementation or validation of analog and mixed-model integrated circuits for use in our Image Sensor products.

As an Intern, you will become an integral part of our analogue design team, contributing to the development of sophisticated image sensors. You'll work closely with experienced engineers in analogue integrated circuit design, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on advanced prototyping and evaluation systems for Sony's innovative CMOS Image Sensors.

Depending on experience, these are possible assignments:

  • Analogue circuit implementation and verification.
  • Analogue layout implementation and physical verification.
  • Development of tools for sensor design implementation and verification.
  • Development of test automation for characterisation and evaluation of fabricated sensors.

You will bring:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s, PhD degree, or equivalent, in electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering, electronics, physics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Good command of English.

What we offer:

  • In-depth learning about next-generation imaging and sensing technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in a professional office setting.
  • Collaboration with a team of experts in analogue IC design.
  • 3-month internship, starting in June 2027
