This is a field-based position supporting the Boston market. Relocation assistance is not available, and candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Boston area at their own expense.
Position Summary
Sony Biotechnology is seekingaAssociateFieldService Engineer to train withour flow cytometry service team in the New England and NY Metro regions. This is a fixed-term position of up to 12months, designed for recent college graduates interested in gaining hands-on technical fieldexperience.
The positionmay potentially lead to a full-time regular Field Service EngineerIposition for selected candidates, based on business needs, performance, and qualifications.
The Associate Field Service Engineer will work alongside experienced Field Service Engineers to learn how to support flow cytometryequipment at customer sites through installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services.This will lead to working independently.

Periodic travel to Eastern Canada and other Eastern sub-regions may be requiredon an as-needed basis
Key Responsibilities
Train alongsideField Service Engineers atcustomer site visits, including installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs
Assistwith troubleshooting technical issues related to flow cytometry instrumentation
Learn and follow service procedures, technical memos, safety standards, and documentation requirements, along with how to use Salesforce and prepare a Field Service Report.
Communicate product quality observations or service concerns to appropriate teammembers
Work closely with Field Service, Sales, and Field Applications teams
Support customer satisfaction through professional communication and timelyfollow-up
Assistwith maintainingservice parts and inventory organization, completing expense reports in a timely mannerand entering hours into your timesheeton a weekly basis.
Develop understanding of flow cytometry systems, including optics, fluidics, electronics, and pneumatics
Travel to customer sites as requiredwithin the assigned region
Qualifications
Applicants should be recent college graduates within the past 6 months
Must hold a 2-year Associatedegree or 4-year Bachelor’sdegree (preferred)
Degreeshould be in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline
Interest in field service, laboratory instrumentation, medical devices, biotechnology, or life science equipment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong customer focus and professional communication skills
Highly organized with good follow-up skills
Self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn
Basic understanding of flow cytometry or related scientific disciplines is a plus
Computer skills required, including typing, email, and basic software use
Additional Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s licenseand own or have access to a reliable vehicle
Must hold a valid U.S. passport for potential travel to Canada
Must be authorized towork in the United States
Ability to travel, including overnight travel, as needed
Flexibility with schedule and ability to adapt to last-minute changes
Candidate will be expected to work from homelearning how to assistcustomer’son the phone/remotely for technical troubleshootingwhen not traveling to customer sites

The target annualized base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000.Theindividual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
