Essential Skills Experience working within a Data Centre or IT infrastructure environment. Knowledge of server installation, racking, stacking, and decommissioning. Experience installing and managing structured copper and fibre optic cabling.
Understanding of network infrastructure including switches, routers, patch panels and network connectivity. Ability to perform hardware installations, relocations and equipment upgrades. Experience following Change Management and Configuration Management processes.
Knowledge of ITIL principles and incident, problem and request management. Experience using IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy. Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues.
Understanding of power distribution, UPS systems, cooling and environmental monitoring within a Data Centre. Experience maintaining accurate asset inventories and technical documentation. Awareness of security procedures, access control and working within secure environments.
Ability to work safely and follow Health Safety procedures. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Good verbal and written communication skills.
