Lead Business Intelligence Engineer

Work directly with senior stakeholders across technology and business to shape how data is used in the organization. You will take ownership of a cloud based data platform and drive its next stage of growth. This role is about building solutions that are actually used and making data a core part of decision making.

Responsibilities:

• Design and lead the development of scalable data solutions that deliver reliable and actionable insights across the organization
• Drive the evolution of the data model to ensure it supports both current and future business needs
• Architect and oversee data pipelines that efficiently ingest, transform, and serve data for analytical use cases
• Define and drive best practices in data modeling, data quality, and performance optimization across the BI platform
• Develop and optimize semantic layers that enable self-service analytics and consistent reporting
• Guide the design of dashboards and analytical products to ensure clarity, usability, and business relevance
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to align data solutions with strategic goals
• Identify opportunities to enhance the platform with advanced analytics and AI where it adds real value

What we are looking for:

• Strong experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or similar roles, with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end automated data solutions.
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with "AI-ready" data. You know what it takes to feed AI models for automated reporting, including managing high-quality metadata, writing excellent field descriptions, and defining clear, robust relationships between tables.
• Proven experience designing scalable data models and building production-grade data platforms using the Medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
• Advanced SQL skills and confidence working with large and complex datasets.
• Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses, ideally BigQuery.
• Experience building, automating, and maintaining ETL or ELT pipelines in production environments.
• Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt or Dataform.
• Experience working with orchestration tools.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or similar.
• Solid understanding of cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• A degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work directly with other engineering teams to onboard data, as well as technical and business stakeholders.
