Other Considerations: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Required)

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Reuse Team Lead to support the Product Lifecycle team in direct support of the Department of Veterans Affairs mission to serve Veterans. This role leads the day-to-day operations of the Reuse function and helps ensure work moves efficiently across the broader Product Lifecycle. The Reuse Team Lead is responsible for team oversight, process consistency, stakeholder communication, documentation, risk management, and delivery coordination.

The ideal candidate is a strong delivery leader who can manage people, improve processes, maintain visibility into active work, and help ensure the Reuse function remains aligned with broader Product Lifecycle and program priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and oversee the Reuse team, including priorities, workload, performance, delivery health, and team capacity
  • Provide clear direction to team members and maintain consistent expectations for quality, documentation, communication, and follow-through
  • Oversee Reuse requests throughout the Product Lifecycle and ensure required information, notes, attachments, links, tasks, and related records are accurate and current
  • Maintain visibility into schedules, dependencies, risks, blockers, and required actions, and help remove issues that may delay delivery
  • Coordinate across Product Lifecycle teams to improve intake, handoffs, communication, and overall flow of work
  • Build and maintain SOPs, process maps, job aids, handoff criteria, decision guidance, and other Reuse documentation
  • Capture process history and key decisions so important knowledge is documented and maintained across the team
  • Maintain regular communication with VA customers, Product Lifecycle teams, program leadership, cybersecurity, and other stakeholders
  • Identify and escalate delivery, customer, or operational risks with clear impacts and recommended next steps
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex, high-priority, or high-visibility Reuse requests
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure applicable governance, security, architecture, and delivery requirements are addressed
  • Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and handoffs
  • Establish quality-control practices to improve the accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness of Reuse data and deliverables
  • Track and report team performance, delivery status, risks, and process-health information to leadership
  • Represent the Reuse function in cross-team and leadership discussions and provide recommendations based on delivery and program needs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 8+ years of experience in product lifecycle management, program or project management, cloud services, IT service management, or a related technical discipline
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a leadership, team-lead, or cross-functional program role
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing competing priorities, delivery quality, and performance
  • Experience building or improving processes, documentation, SOPs, and handoffs across teams
  • Strong project and program management skills, including schedules, risks, dependencies, dashboards, and stakeholder communication
  • Experience with structured requests, workflow, ticketing, or product-tracking systems such as Salesforce or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional Product Lifecycle processes
  • Working knowledge of SaaS and PaaS environments, cloud delivery models, and software development lifecycles
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity and cloud governance requirements, including FedRAMP, FISMA, and ATO processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and process-improvement skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across technical teams, customers, and leadership
  • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs programs, VA OIT, or other large federal environments is preferred
  • Additional preferred relevant experience may include Reuse or related Product Lifecycle governance, customer-facing support or triage, knowledge management, workflow or process automation, ITIL, Agile/Scrum, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or relevant cloud and security certifications
