We are looking for a talented and passionate Senior Business Analyst to jointheResearcherPlatformteamsin SN Digital (SND), a technology division of Springer Nature.

Our teams support researchers to discover,readand publish content across the Springer Nature portfolio. This work drives key business goals to grow content consumption and submissions.

The way that academic research is being communicated to audiences around the globe is changing rapidly. Increasingly, validated research data can be consumed at scale through AI tools and machine intelligence, creating a moment of transition in research communication, and an inspiring opportunity to shape how millions discover, trust, and apply research, accelerating the translation of insight into real world impact faster than before. About the role

In this role, you will be part of a cross-functional agile delivery team,leveraginganalysis tools to inform decisions that support both businessobjectivesand user needs. You will collaborate closely with both your team and business stakeholders to understand complex business problems, defineworkandidentifykey opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to understand our goals & vision, andidentifybusiness needs through strong business insight

  • Orchestrate collaboration within the team and externally with business stakeholders while balancing competing stakeholder priorities

  • Communicate to the development team how the requirements are aligned with the business needs and “big picture” goals and vision using clear storytelling techniques

  • Collaborate and provide business analysis support to the product manager, business sponsors,SMEsand the team during development

  • Unearth the root cause(s) of pain points, andvalidatebusiness opportunities and problems using data analytics and quantitative analysis where relevant as a tool

  • Prioritisecompeting demands and obtaining buy-in from stakeholders

  • Map,analyseandvalidateinformation flows within a complexorganisationalsetting and contribute to process and system design improvements

  • Plan,organiseand lead workshops that generate ideas and resolve problems

  • Champion business analysis best practices and principles within the BA community

  • Challenge and influence decisions; focusing on customer and business value

  • Monitoring,trackingand communicating progress and issues relating to the projectas a whole applyingproject management practices

  • Capturing information in teams Jira and ensuring they are kept up to date what you will be doing

  • Develop an understanding of the technology stack, systemcapabilitiesand data landscape to support effective solution delivery

Within 3 Months, you will:

  • Strengthen team ceremonies conducted regularly, adding value to the delivery process.

  • Have an understanding ofthe team’s context in the broaderprogrammeand business.

  • Havedeveloped relationships with team members and core stakeholders.

  • Be familiar with the technology stack and data landscape

  • Can co-plan,organiseand lead group sessions that generate ideas and resolve problems.

  • Can unearth the root cause(s) of pain points andvalidatebusiness opportunities and problems.

  • Be an active participant of the Business Analystcommunities.

By 3-6 months, you will:

  • Have a clear understanding of the team’s priorities and be able to communicate this to stakeholders.

  • Build relationships with key providers and dependent teams.

  • Be able tomonitor, track and communicate progress,risksand issues to stakeholders.

  • Be able toprioritisecompeting demands and obtain buy-in from stakeholders.

  • Map,analyseandvalidateinformation flows and user journeys to and from the product/service digital estate.

  • Gauge the complexity or scope of a piece of work, collaboratively breaking it into smaller pieces asappropriate.

  • Contribute to blameless post-mortems.

  • Set context with your team to ensure any solutions co-defined provide business value whilst solving customer problems

By 6-12 months, you will:

  • Onboard new members to the team

  • Co-define the complexity or scope of a piece of work, breaking it into smaller pieces whenappropriate.

  • Ensure scoped work aligns withprogrammeand company vision

  • Contribute to the design of the system architecture.

  • Understand our customers’ needs, both internal and external, and how your work affects their experience.

  • Organiseand run sessions with your discipline peers within the Business Analyst community.

  • Actively work alongside your team to define the vision and strategy of your product or service in terms of business and customer outcomes.

  • Define KPIs to measure product/service performance in terms of business and customer outcomes.

  • Have a thorough understanding of the potential opportunities and limitations of your product/service offering

  • Instila data-driven approach to current and future product/service development.

Day to day responsibilities

As part of an Agile product team, day-to-day, you will:

  • Engage in and/orfacilitateceremonies such as our daily stand-ups, planning,prioritisationand steering sessions, story kick-offs, collaborative analysis and design workshops,showcasesto internal customers and regular retrospectives.

  • Work with our many and varied stakeholders to understand,analyseand scope new work.

  • Support your team members in problem-solving activities to remove blockers and complete agreed-upon work.
