Pricing Application Technology Director

Position Purpose:

SRS Distribution, part of The Home Depot family of companies, is establishing Pricefx as its enterprise platform for price optimization, price management, cost management, quoting/CPQ, and price execution across business units, sales channels, and customer experiences. The platform will support critical workflows across Agility, CoSailor, Order Now, Roof Hub and Heritage eCommerce, commercial quoting, and other connected enterprise systems.

We are seeking a business-facing, execution-focused technology leader to serve as Pricing Application Technology Director. This role is accountable for the strategy, lifecycle, roadmap, delivery, investment planning, service health, risk, controls, licensing, vendor ecosystem, and operating model for enterprise pricing technology, with Pricefx as the core platform. The Director will partner closely with the Enterprise Pricing Product Owner, who owns business strategy, priorities, and outcomes, to translate commercial needs into scalable technology capabilities and executable delivery plans.

You will lead a centralized Pricing Technology team spanning solution architecture and platform engineering while working across Digital Commerce, Enterprise Applications, ERP, Data Engineering, API Integration, Cybersecurity, IAM, and other technology teams. A core expectation is that SRS retains internal ownership of platform strategy, architecture, configuration, controls, and critical technology decisions while using Pricefx for the underlying SaaS platform and managed-services partners for scalable L1/L2 support and routine operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Strategy & Business Partnership

• Own and communicate the multi-year enterprise pricing technology strategy and roadmap across price optimization, price and cost management, quoting/CPQ, price execution, real-time pricing, and related commercial capabilities.

• Serve as the senior Technology partner to pricing, commercial, product, sales, finance, and business leaders, connecting business priorities to technology strategy, investment decisions, sequencing, and measurable outcomes.

• Ensure Pricefx and connected applications evolve as an integrated enterprise capability rather than a collection of business-unit or channel-specific solutions.

• Partner with Digital Commerce, Enterprise Applications, ERP, and vertical technology leaders to align pricing, quoting, customer-facing experiences, and real-time pricing capabilities to a common architecture and roadmap.

• Establish outcome and operational measures for delivery predictability, platform reliability, release quality, incident performance, and business enablement; use them to drive transparent operating reviews.

Platform Lifecycle, Delivery & Operations

• Own the Pricefx platform lifecycle from capability planning and implementation through releases, upgrades, operations, optimization, and eventual retirement or replacement decisions.

• Be accountable for delivery, budget and investment planning, resource capacity, licensing, service health, risk, vendor performance, and total cost of ownership.

• Govern major releases, platform changes, and cross-system dependencies; drive resolution of critical issues affecting pricing, quoting, digital channels, integrations, or downstream enterprise systems.

• Establish service levels, escalation paths, operating cadences, and performance expectations across internal teams, Pricefx, systems integrators, and managed-services partners.

• Ensure the platform can scale across business units, channels, and customer experiences with the reliability, performance, observability, and support model required for a business-critical enterprise capability.

Architecture, Governance & Controls

• Own technology decision rights across the end-to-end pricing stack and establish clear architecture, engineering, integration, data, security, and operational standards for pricing technology.

• Empower the Senior Pricing Solution Architect to own detailed end-to-end solution architecture and technical design while maintaining alignment to enterprise strategy, investment priorities, and platform guardrails.

• Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, API Integration, Cybersecurity, IAM, ERP, Digital, and other shared teams to deliver secure and scalable end-to-end solutions.

• Maintain strong controls around access, change management, auditability, data protection, release governance, and SOX requirements.

• Maintain clear accountability across SRS, Pricefx, implementation partners, and managed-services providers so critical platform knowledge and technology decisions remain internal.

Team & Partner Ecosystem Leadership

• Lead, develop, and scale the internal Pricing Technology team across solution architecture, Pricefx engineering, platform administration, and future delivery leadership as adoption and complexity grow.

• Build deep internal pricing technology expertise, documentation, reusable technical practices, and succession depth to reduce long-term dependency on external partners.

• Govern software vendors, systems integrators, and managed-services providers, including technical quality, service performance, knowledge transfer, roadmap alignment, contracts, and licensing.

• Create a culture of ownership, disciplined execution, cross-functional problem solving, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

• Communicate clearly with senior Business and Technology leaders, making complex trade-offs understandable and driving decisions across organizational boundaries.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

• Reports directly to Digital Innovation Technology leadership.

Travel Requirements:

• Limited travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Significant experience with pricing, CPQ, revenue management, commercial technology, order-to-cash, or comparable business domains.

• Proven success defining technology roadmaps and owning delivery, budgets, vendors, service health, risk, and investment decisions across interconnected systems.

• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, SaaS platforms, APIs, integrations, ERP/CRM/CPQ/e-commerce ecosystems, enterprise data flows, and master data dependencies.

• Experience establishing operating models that combine strong internal ownership with SaaS providers, systems integrators, and managed-services partners.

• Experience operating Tier 1 Enterprise applications with strong security, availability, change-management, audit, and compliance requirements.

• Demonstrated ability to influence senior Business and Technology leaders and translate complex technology decisions into clear business implications.

• Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, financial discipline, and the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with Pricefx, PROS, Vendavo, Model N, Salesforce CPQ, or another enterprise pricing and quoting platform.

• Experience in B2B distribution, wholesale, retail, building products, or another multi-business-unit environment with complex customer and product pricing.

• Experience integrating pricing capabilities into digital commerce and other customer-facing channels, including real-time API-driven pricing.

• Experience establishing or scaling a centralized pricing-technology capability.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education:

• Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

• 10+ years of progressive enterprise technology experience, including leadership of complex Tier-1 applications, commercial platforms, or business-critical SaaS capabilities.

Certifications:

• Relevant technical certifications preferred.
