The Finance Manager, North America is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and finance operations across the North American business — the United States, Canada, and Mexico — ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the region's financial records. This role leads the core accounting function — month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, taxes, payroll, and consolidation — and provides oversight of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Collections, and Senior Accountant roles. As the senior accounting/finance operator for the region, the Finance Manager ensures the books are closed correctly and on schedule, enforces internal controls in a publicly traded (SOX) environment, and delivers reliable financial data to the Director of Finance and executive leadership. Strategic financial planning and FP&A for the region are owned by the Director of Finance; the Finance Manager partners with that leader by providing accurate, timely financial information and analysis support.

What You'll Do

Month-End Close & General Accounting

Own and certify the monthly and quarter-end close for the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, including preparation and review of close binders and financial statements.

Manage the general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations; ensure accurate and complete recording of all transactions.

Review balance sheet accounts, inventory, prepaids, and work-in-process regularly to ensure reported numbers are accurate and issues are proactively resolved.

Oversee fixed-asset accounting and maintenance of the fixed-asset ledger.

Perform and review bank reconciliations for the region.

Consolidation, Reporting & Master Data

Load OneStream statistics/data and perform the OneStream check and approval for NA entities.

Review and approve master data changes to maintain data integrity across financial systems.

Prepare and review intercompany reconciliations and intercompany billing across NA entities.

Support annual reporting and generate financial reports for the Director of Finance and executive leadership as needed.

Tax, Payroll & Compliance

Complete monthly tax filings and coordinate related compliance across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, including country-specific statutory and indirect-tax requirements.

Process and/or oversee payroll (Dayforce), ensuring accuracy of pay, coding, and deductions across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Maintain and distribute certificates of insurance.

Approve purchase orders, ensuring compliance to process and accuracy of GL coding.

Internal Controls & Audit

Enforce internal controls and segregation of duties to meet SOX/COSO requirements; serve as the reviewer/approver of accounting work within defined control boundaries.

Handle internal and external audit requests and support a timely, clean audit.

Identify and implement process improvements and standard work across the accounting function.

Team Leadership & Oversight

Provide leadership, coaching, and quality review to the Accounts Payable, AR & Collections, and Senior Accountant roles.

Provide oversight and review of the Mexico (MTMX) accounting function, which is performed day-to-day by the Accounting Manager, MTMX; ensure Mexico results are accurate, timely, and properly consolidated into the NA reporting framework.

Take ownership of issues within scope — proactively driving solutions, exercising sound judgment, and communicating progress to stakeholders rather than escalating routine matters.

Support ERP (SAP) and OneStream improvement initiatives and consult with site management on expenses, financial performance, and SAP process flow.

Other duties and assignments as required; may serve as backup for payroll, bank deposits, and related functions.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (equivalent experience may be considered).

Minimum seven (7) years of progressive accounting/finance experience in a comparable role, including month-end close ownership.

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and multi-entity accounting; experience closing multiple legal entities.

Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred), consolidation tools (OneStream preferred), and payroll systems (Dayforce).

Self-starter who takes ownership, exercises sound judgment, and drives issues to resolution proactively.

Strong communicator with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to lead and develop a small accounting team.

High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and financial integrity.

What We Value

CPA, CA (Chartered Accountant), CMA, or equivalent.

Experience in a publicly traded / SOX-compliant company.

Experience with SAP Business One and OneStream in a publicly owned company.

Canadian accounting and payroll familiarity — CRA source deductions (CPP/EI), T4/ROE, Ontario EHT/WSIB, and Registered Pension Plan (RPP) administration — given NA operations in Ontario.

Experience in manufacturing (plastics/injection molding or automotive supply preferred).

Familiarity with Mexico-region accounting, tax, and payroll requirements (given oversight of the MTMX entity); working Spanish-language ability a plus.

Work Environment

On-site role based in Fraser, MI; standard office environment with occasional plant-floor exposure requiring appropriate PPE.

Occasional travel to NA site locations as needed.
