Stanley Black & Decker is an American toolmaker formed in 2010 by merging Stanley Works, founded in 1843, with Black & Decker, and it is the largest hand and power tool manufacturer in the world. Its brands include DeWalt for professional trades, Craftsman, Black+Decker for consumers and Stanley for hand tools, alongside outdoor equipment and industrial fastening systems. Headquartered in New Britain, Connecticut and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it has spent recent years unwinding an inventory build-up and divesting non-core businesses to restore margins.
