The Formulation Scientist supports project delivery by executing experimental plans, generating reliable technical data, and contributing to formulation and process development activities for post-launch product optimization, maintenance projects or innovation products.

This role independently conducts laboratory experiments, analyzes results, prepares technical documentation, and communicates effectively with cross-functional partners in RD, QSC, Regulatory, Quality, and Manufacturing to support timely project progression and supply continuity for Haleon China's wellness business.

Execution Powerhouse

• Supports assigned projects by completing agreed technical tasks and experimental workstreams.
• Contributes to wellness and OTC maintenance initiatives and innovation products development, mainly supporting post-launch reformulations, raw material evaluations, troubleshooting, and corrective actions under guidance to meet regulatory standards and consumer expectations.

• Supports the development and evaluation of product optimization technical routes to meet product quality and regulatory compliance requirements, including post-launch variation projects.
• Executes formulation, process, and raw material experiments independently according to approved plans, records observations accurately, analyzes data, and prepares technical summaries to support project decisions.
• Works closely with RD and QSC technical functions, including regulatory, clinical, analytical, stability, technical service, quality, and manufacturing teams, to align on technical inputs, timelines, and deliverables.
• Applies basic QbD/TRA principles and good scientific practice in experimental design, execution, and technical documentation.

• Applies sound technical judgment to complete assigned objectives and escalates risks, issues, and technical questions in a timely manner.
• Ensures all work is conducted in accordance with written procedures (e.g. quality and safety), methods & batch documents, etc.
• Produces or contributes to, departmental quality documentation (including SOP’s, batch documentation, validation protocols & reports, formulation risk assessment).

• Builds effective working relationships with cross-functional partners, including Regulatory, Supply Chain Technical, Manufacturing site, Procurement, Quality, and Analytical teams, to support efficient project delivery.

• Maintains precise experimental records; issues report at project milestones; writes invention records to protect scientific discoveries.
• Ensures all work is always conducted following good scientific practice and Good Manufacturing Practice (where required).

• Participates in problem solving using appropriate tools, available data, and input from relevant technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
