The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Development Program (“SLP”) is a high-profile rotational program that is an integrated process for accelerating the development of our future leaders. It is geared toward recent graduates with Human Resources internship experience and a relevant business degree with a passion for a long-term career in Human Resources and People Operations.
Engineering SLPs work in three 8-month rotations in Engineering, Product Management and Operations at different facilities across the United States. Each rotation has project assignments that allow participants to become familiar with how we do business and contribute to the success of that facility. The program offers invaluable experiences for early-career associates seeking challenging developmental opportunities to jump-start their careers.

The Job:
As a part of the SLP program,you’llbe part of our Engineering team.You’llget to:
Design and develop electronic firmware and specifications for power tools including brushless DC motor controls, Li-Ion battery managementsystemsand battery chargers.
Implement andvalidateelectronic designs through software development,testand simulation.
Develop software verification and validation procedures using unit and integration tests.
Provide leadership in achieving cost, performance and qualityobjectivesof all related electronic systems,componentsand sub-assemblies.
Develop solutions for electronic systems related issues as an integral member of a larger team.
Maintainappropriate documentationfor work performed.
Translate customer requirements into software specifications.
Embrace cross functionalteam work.
The Person:

Bachelor’sdegreein Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited computer or electrical engineering college.
Knowledge in developing embedded 8bit/16bit/32bit microcontrollers in C.
Experience with ARM architecturespreferred,experience with assembly language a plus.
Understanding ofcommon microcontroller peripherals such as timers, GPIO, watchdog, ADC, UART, DMA.
Strong understanding of embedded concepts, including real-time processing, process scheduling, cooperative multitasking, interrupted processing, race conditions, RTOS.
Familiarity with closed loop control and feedback systems,lithium ionbattery powered systems and common motor control techniques includingsensoredandsensorlesstrapezoidal control is a plus.
Familiar with software development processes and control (static analysis, distributed version control, unit testing, bug tracking)
Experience with debugging, either in-circuit debugger or by other means.

Must be willing to rotate work assignments, projects, and teams every8months throughout the program. Relocation for a minimum of one rotation may berequired; relocationassistanceis available.
This hybrid role will begin in either New Britain, CT or Towson,MD

The Salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $96,600.00This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements.
