The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Health Care Regulation and Quality Improvement (HCRQI) section is seeking a dedicated Plans Examiner (Health Facilities Consultant) to join our team.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring that newly constructed or remodeled healthcare facilities provide safe, compliant, and appropriate environments for individuals receiving medical services.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage architectural, engineering, and Fire Life Safety plan reviews
  • Support project sponsors and architects in meeting all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Assist licensing agencies in verifying that completed projects comply with state and federal standards

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications: These qualifications must be reflected in your application for consideration.

Two years of experience in the research, development, design, construction, alteration, or repair of Oregon health and residential care facilities AND

a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or three more years of pertinent architecture experience.

  • Experience in designing or reviewing health care facilities and specialized residential care facilities is preferred.
  • Candidates should hold a current Oregon license as a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer.

Preference Statement: Preference will be given to candidates possessing more years of experience and meeting more of the desired attributes.
