Statkraft is an Oslo-based renewable energy company, wholly owned by the Norwegian state, that develops and operates hydropower, wind, solar, gas-fired and biomass plants, supplies district heating and trades power in international energy markets. It is the largest generator of renewable energy in Europe, traces its history to 1895, produced 72.1 TWh in 2025 and employs around 6,500 people in about 20 countries across Europe, South America and Asia, with a shared services centre in Cork. It hires O&M and control technicians in Peru, wind and solar construction project managers, enterprise architects, market analysts, grid and GIS specialists, energy traders and finance staff.

Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. That is what we offer. 125 years of unrivalled expertise in supplying the world with what it needs most. We envision a world that runs entirely on renewable energy. Because in the fight against climate change, we do not see renewable energy as part of the solution - we believe it must be the solution. With us, you will shape a career that is truly forward-facing with many amazing opportunities and offerings to match.

But there is more work to be done - that is why we need you to join us!

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer, Network Operations to join our Operation Center within Global Infrastructure Operations in Oslo, Norway.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Escalate complex incidents and coordinate with subject matter experts when required.
  • Contribute to network lifecycle activities, including upgrades, maintenance, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and technical procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance network stability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes in accordance with ITIL best practices.
  • Provide operational support for global network services within a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Collaborate with network architects, engineering teams, cloud teams, and service providers to evaluate, implement, and optimize network solutions.
  • Contribute to the automation of operational network tasks, monitoring, and remediation processes to improve efficiency and service reliability.
  • Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. The applicant must have a valid background check conducted by Semac or an equivalent provider.
  • Practical experience in configuring, operating, and troubleshooting network infrastructure and connectivity services.
  • Knowledge and competence equivalent to Cisco CCNA level or higher.
  • Understanding of cloud networking concepts and connectivity solutions across platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with enterprise firewall technologies, preferably including Cisco, Check Point, and Azure Firewall solutions.
  • Good understanding of enterprise IT environments, including infrastructure, networks, systems, and operational processes.
  • Knowledge of, or a strong interest in learning, modern infrastructure and automation technologies such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Bicep, Git, and related tooling.
  • Solid understanding of network security principles, cybersecurity best practices, and operational resilience.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in an environment undergoing continuous transformation and improvement.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical teams.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Structured, proactive, and capable of maintaining focus in a dynamic 24/7 operational environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken.
