Overview
Statkraft is an Oslo-based renewable energy company, wholly owned by the Norwegian state, that develops and operates hydropower, wind, solar, gas-fired and biomass plants, supplies district heating and trades power in international energy markets. It is the largest generator of renewable energy in Europe, traces its history to 1895, produced 72.1 TWh in 2025 and employs around 6,500 people in about 20 countries across Europe, South America and Asia, with a shared services centre in Cork. It hires O&M and control technicians in Peru, wind and solar construction project managers, enterprise architects, market analysts, grid and GIS specialists, energy traders and finance staff.
