Senior BI Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop engaging Power BI dashboards and visualizations tailored to diverse business needs.
• Design and maintain scalable data models in Power BI and Databricks.
• Create and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to harmonize data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, flat files, and cloud services).
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues to gather requirements and translate business questions into technical solutions.
• Champion data quality, governance, and security in all BI processes.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data workflows for reliability and performance.
• Stay current with best practices in BI and data engineering, including new Power BI features and Databricks capabilities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years' experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, or related.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development).
• Strong command of SQL (across Microsoft and cloud platforms).
• Solid experience with Databricks (Workspace, Notebooks).
• Experience with Azure data services and cloud-based BI solutions.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding of agile delivery methodologies.
• Must-Have Skills: Databricks, Power BI / DAX, Dimensional modelling, Python, Azure services (storage, compute).

Nice to have Skills:

• Experience with dbt or other modern data stack tools.
• Knowledge of data governance and cataloging (Unity Catalog, Purview).
• Power BI embedded, Power Query (M), and custom visuals.
