Position Purpose: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Linux Administrator to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems, particularly Linux-based servers. The role involves providing support to end-users, resolving issues in a timely manner, and actively contributing to the enhancement of our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Primary duties will include:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers and systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Automating routine tasks using scripting languages such as Ansible, Bash, Python, or Go-lang
• Implementing and managing virtualization technologies and containerization platforms like Docker, Podman or Kubernetes.
• Experiencing configuring and running automated CI/CD jobs.
• Implementing and maintaining security protocols to comply with financial industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX, PCI-DSS).
• Regularly updating systems to patch security vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with industry security standards.
• Providing high-level expertise in resolving complex technical issues and outages, often under time-sensitive conditions.
• Collaborating with other IT teams for cross-functional issues affecting Linux systems
• Monitor system performance and ensure optimal functioning of IT infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, providing quick and effective solutions.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to optimize system performance and enhance system security.
• Provide technical support to end-users, assisting them with hardware and software issues.

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

• 7+ years of experience as a Senior Linux Administrator.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, particularly RedHat, CentOS, or Ubuntu.
• Experience with software development lifecycle
• Proficiency with automating and writing tools in Python or Golang
• Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or KVM.
• Familiarity with cloud services, such as Azure, AWS is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive approach to system monitoring and issue resolution.

Working environment:

• 4 days' work from office.
