Reports To: Director, Logistics (solid line) | Director of Curations (dotted line)
Department: Operations / Logistics
Location: Studio McGee Creative Services Warehouse located in Draper, UT - on-site, required
Direct Reports: Creative Services Warehouse Merchandise Coordinators (2-3)
Employment Type: Full-Time, exempt
Overview:
The Creative Services Warehouse Operations Manager is the on-site leader of our Draper Creative Services Warehouse - a dynamic facility that receives, stores, preps, and transports product in support of on-location and off-site photo shoots, the Product Development team, Studio McGee interior design projects and client installations, and a wide range of ad hoc creative production requests.
This is not a standard warehouse management role. You will run a precision operation that serves both a logistics function and a creative production function simultaneously. You are the single point of accountability on the floor - translating the demand calendar from our Director of Curations into a daily plan, while executing against the operational standards governed by our Director of Logistics. Both directors operate through you; your direct reports get one boss and one clear daily direction.
The right candidate is equally at home managing inbound receiving and cycle counts as they are coordinating product staging for a photo shoot or supporting a Studio McGee design installation across state lines. If you have worked in a warehouse that powers a creative production environment - a home furnishings brand, a catalog or editorial studio, a design firm's logistics arm - this role was written for you.

Whether following us on social media or becoming part of our company, we invite you to join us on our mission to “Make Life Beautiful.”

- Participate in the weekly three-way sync with both directors to align on the coming two weeks of demand, flag capacity constraints, and resolve any conflicts before they reach the team
Warehouse Operations & Inventory
- Own all receiving, storage, and brand/team inventory separation for Studio McGee and McGee & Co. product
- Execute daily operations in NetSuite and Airtable: transfer orders, cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, and inventory accuracy

- Conduct thorough inbound product inspections; document, photograph, and file damage claims within 24 hours of receipt
- Deliver weekly operational reporting to both directors: throughput, transfer accuracy, damage rates, and team capacity

- Participate actively in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new merchandise coordinators
- Write and maintain SOPs for every recurring workflow; ensure documentation is accessible and consistently followed
- Manage payroll inputs, timecards, PTO tracking, and scheduling in accordance with standards set by the Director of Logistics

- Write and deliver the weekly ops report to both directors
What We're Looking For:
Required
- 3+ years of warehouse, logistics, or operations experience in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment
- 2+ years of direct people management - scheduling, performance feedback, and team development
- Experience in an environment where your warehouse or operations role served a creative or production function: photo studio, catalog production, retail visual merchandising, interior design logistics, event production, or similar

- Current forklift certification or ability to obtain upon hire; comfort with standard warehouse material-handling equipment
- Physical stamina for an active warehouse environment - regular lifting, standing, and product movement
Preferred
- Experience in a home furnishings, interior design, or home décor environment -where warehouse operations intersect with catalog or creative production
- Familiarity with Airtable or similar project management and inventory tools
- Experience writing and maintaining warehouse SOPs and compliance documentation
- Background in DOT compliance and fleet management
- Furniture handling, minor furniture repair, or product touch-up experience
What Success Looks Like:
In your first 90 days: the team has one clear reporting line and one daily plan. Shoots and installations consistently start with product pulled, prepped, and staged on schedule. Inventory accuracy and transfer timeliness are tracked weekly. Compliance is current and evidenced. Every recurring workflow is documented in an SOP any Associate can follow.
At steady state: you are the operational heartbeat of the Creative Services Warehouse - running the floor with enough structure and documentation that both directors can govern their planes without reaching around you to the team. You are a reliable translator between the creative and operational worlds, and your Associates know exactly who to ask for what.
Your Reporting Structure:
This role operates in a dual-plane reporting model designed to give the warehouse clear ownership at every level. Your solid-line manager of record is Jason Luce, Director of Logistics - he governs employment mechanics, operational standards, compliance, fleet, facility, and the operating budget. Your dotted-line is to Holly Okubo, Director of Curations - she owns the demand calendar, shoot and install priorities, and the work-product standard. Both directors communicate through you; your Associates never navigate between two bosses. That translation is your job, and it is where this role adds the most value.
Benefits:
- Competitive compensation + bonuses
- Comprehensive heath benefits (medical, dental, vision, hospital indemnity, accident, pet)
- Open PTO and paid company holidays
- 401k Employer match - 100% of deferrals up to 4% of compensation
- Exclusive 50% off Team Member discount at mcgeeandco.com + access to Team Member warehouse sales
- Collaborative, creative culture with room to grow
