Overview

PRODUCT MANAGER

Company: StudyTrack

Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Louisiana residency required)

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Reports to: VP of Product

Role Overview

StudyTrack is a data platform designed to bring transparency, accountability, and measurable outcomes to education systems-redefining how services, funding, and impact are tracked.

We are seeking a Product Manager to own the day-to-day management of StudyTrack - translating product vision into shipped features, managing the backlog, and keeping cross-functional execution on track.

This is a hands-on execution role. The Product Manager will work directly with the VP of Product, software developers, data analysts, customer success, and sales - turning strategic priorities into clear specifications, sprint plans, and delivered outcomes.

The right candidate is equally comfortable writing user stories, running standups, triaging customer feedback, and shipping product on schedule.

About StudyTrack

StudyTrack originated within Studyville and is now being developed as a standalone platform to bring transparency, accountability, and measurable outcomes to education.

We operate on a simple principle: if it’s not tracked, it didn’t happen.

Our platform enables schools, districts, and partners to:

  • Track and verify service delivery and student outcomes in real time
  • Ensure compliance across funding streams, vendors, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide auditable data to support decision-making, reporting, and accountability

StudyTrack is positioned to become a category-defining product at the intersection of education, data infrastructure, and public funding accountability.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Daily Product Management

  • Own the day-to-day operation of StudyTrack - backlog, sprints, releases, and post-release validation
  • Translate roadmap priorities set by the VP of Product into clear, well-scoped user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Run sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, and retrospectives with the development team
  • Track velocity, throughput, and delivery against committed timelines
  • Triage incoming bugs, customer requests, and field feedback; make daily prioritization calls in alignment with strategic direction

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact between engineering, data, customer success, and sales on product matters
  • Coordinate release communications, internal training, and customer-facing release notes
  • Partner with customer success to ensure new features are adopted, supported, and properly instrumented
  • Surface blockers, dependencies, and risks early - and drive them to resolution

Customer & User Research

  • Sit close to customers (districts, schools, vendors) and develop a deep understanding of how StudyTrack is used in the field
  • Conduct user interviews, gather feedback, and synthesize insights into product requirements
  • Validate assumptions through user testing, data analysis, and direct customer engagement
  • Translate customer pain points into prioritized product opportunities

Data, Reporting & Product Quality

  • Define and monitor product KPIs (adoption, usage, time-to-value, support burden) in partnership with the data team
  • Use analytics and dashboards to inform daily prioritization decisions
  • Own product quality outcomes - including QA coordination, bug triage, and post-release monitoring
  • Maintain accurate documentation of features, configurations, and user-facing workflows

Compliance-Aware Product Delivery

  • Ensure all features are delivered in alignment with StudyTrack’s SOC 2, FERPA, and data privacy standards
  • Partner with engineering and security on requirements that touch authentication, access control, and auditability
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory and customer compliance requirements that shape product decisions

Stakeholder Communication

  • Communicate status, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to the VP of Product, executive team, and cross-functional partners
  • Translate technical detail into business language and business priorities into technical requirements
  • Keep internal and external stakeholders informed of product direction, timelines, and changes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in B2B SaaS.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a product backlog and shipping software in an agile environment.
  • Strong technical fluency - comfortable working with developers, reading documentation, and understanding system tradeoffs.
  • Experience writing clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements documents.
  • Strong analytical skills - comfortable using dashboards, queries, and metrics to inform decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate between technical, customer, and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated bias toward execution, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment with shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in edtech, SaaS data platforms, or analytics-driven products.
  • Familiarity with K-12 education, district operations, or intervention/tutoring workflows.
  • Experience working in regulated environments (FERPA, SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar).
  • Experience with product and engineering tools such as Jira, Linear, Notion, Figma, and BI platforms (Metabase, Looker, or similar).
  • Background working in a growth-stage or founder-led organization.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $85,000
  • Full package includes performance bonus and benefits
