About the Role

As a Cleaner, you will maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of the medical centre.

You will work closely with other members of the facility and healthcare teams to ensure that patient areas, offices, washrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces remain clean, safe, and properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain patient rooms, consultation areas, offices, waiting areas, corridors, washrooms, and other designated spaces.

• Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces according to established procedures.

• Clean high-touch surfaces regularly to support a safe and hygienic environment.

• Follow appropriate procedures when handling cleaning materials, equipment, waste, and potentially contaminated areas.

• Maintain washrooms and replenish essential supplies when required.

• Collect and dispose of waste safely and in accordance with facility procedures.

• Use cleaning equipment and products correctly and responsibly.

• Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, spills, hazards, or other facility issues promptly.

• Keep cleaning materials and equipment organised and properly stored.

• Follow health, safety, hygiene, and infection-prevention procedures at all times.

• Respect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality while working within the facility.

• Respond promptly to cleaning requests from authorised staff.

• Maintain a professional, respectful, and courteous attitude when interacting with patients, visitors, and colleagues.

• Support the wider facilities team with other reasonable cleaning and housekeeping duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Basic education or relevant practical training is preferred.

• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial services, healthcare facilities, hotels, offices, or similar environments will be an advantage.

• Experience working in a medical or healthcare environment will be an added advantage.

• Ability to understand and follow cleaning, hygiene, health, and safety procedures.

• Ability to use basic cleaning equipment and materials safely.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and personal hygiene.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Reliable, punctual, responsible, and physically able to perform cleaning duties.

• Willingness to work flexible hours where required.
