About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Interior Engineering Team Leader to lead our Interior Engineering team and oversee the complete technical and production implementation of yacht interior projects.

The ideal candidate must have solid professional experience in the yacht industry, with a strong understanding of yacht interior outfitting, furniture production, materials, installation, and technical coordination.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for planning, organising, coordinating, and controlling the work of the Interior Engineering team, while maintaining continuous communication with designers, production, purchasing, and other departments.

The Team Leader will act as the key link between design requirements, client expectations, engineering solutions, and production execution, ensuring that all interior elements are delivered according to the required quality, design, technical specifications, and project schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, organise, and coordinate the activities of the Interior Engineering team.
  • Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members according to project priorities and individual capabilities.
  • Monitor the progress, workload, and performance of the Interior Engineering team.
  • Review and control 3D models, 2D drawings, technical documentation, and production details before release to production.
  • Ensure that design requirements are correctly translated into technically feasible and production-ready solutions.
  • Maintain continuous communication with interior designers, architects, project managers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Receive, analyse, and implement client and designer requirements, ensuring that agreed changes are properly incorporated into the engineering and production process.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical feedback regarding manufacturability, installation, materials, tolerances, and production methods.
  • Coordinate closely with workshop and production teams to ensure that furniture and interior elements are manufactured according to approved designs and technical requirements.
  • Monitor the execution and installation of interior furniture and outfitting on board the yachts.
  • Identify and resolve technical and production issues, coordinating with the relevant departments when required.
  • Ensure that design changes and modifications are properly documented, communicated, and implemented.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing Department regarding materials, components, hardware, and other interior outfitting requirements.
  • Review material and component requirements and ensure that purchasing activities are aligned with project schedules.
  • Follow up on procurement status and identify potential delays that could affect production.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse/stock team to ensure the availability of required interior materials and components.
  • Support the development and standardisation of interior construction methods, materials, details, and technical solutions.
  • Ensure that engineering documentation is complete, accurate, and issued to the relevant departments on time.
  • Monitor project deadlines and ensure that the Interior Engineering team delivers its tasks according to the project schedule.
  • Maintain clear communication between Design, Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Project Management.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Junior and Senior Interior Engineers where required.
  • Identify recurring production or design issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Continuously improve engineering and production workflows within the Interior Engineering department.
  • Ensure that the final product meets the required quality, design intent, functionality, and yacht-specific standards.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the yacht industry, preferably in yacht interior engineering, outfitting, furniture production, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a team leadership or supervisory position is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of yacht interior construction, furniture, materials, hardware, and installation methods.
  • Strong knowledge of technical drawings, 3D modelling, and engineering documentation.
  • Good knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
  • Proven ability to coordinate between design, engineering, production, purchasing, and installation teams.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and the practical implementation of interior design solutions.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and take ownership of technical and production-related issues.
  • Ability to lead a team while maintaining a practical, hands-on approach.
  • High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience working on luxury yachts or bespoke yacht interiors.
  • Experience working directly with yacht interior designers, architects, or clients.
  • Experience in furniture manufacturing, carpentry, or interior outfitting.
  • Knowledge of marine materials, hardware, and interior systems.
  • Experience with procurement and supplier coordination.
  • Experience with project planning and task management systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant yacht construction standards and regulations.

What We Offer

  • A key leadership position within the Interior Engineering team.
  • Direct involvement in the creation of world-class luxury yachts, built fully in-house.
  • A hands-on leadership role with responsibility from design coordination through production and on-board installation.
