This is an opportunity to use your accounting expertise, analytical abilities, and process improvement skills to support a growing, multi-location organization committed to serving others.

What You'll Do

As our Senior Accountant, you'll play an important role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial information across our 18 locations. Working closely with the Controller, accounting team, and branch leadership, you'll help strengthen financial controls, streamline accounting processes, and provide meaningful insights that support informed business decisions.

  • Investigate accounting discrepancies, identify underlying causes, and implement lasting solutions.

  • Reconcile cash, receivables, payables, inventory, fixed assets, payroll liabilities, and other general ledger accounts.

  • Analyze financial statement fluctuations and communicate significant findings to the Controller.

  • Partner with branch personnel to ensure accurate inventory records and financial reporting.

  • Support compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies.

Strengthen Financial Controls & Processes

  • Evaluate accounting procedures and internal financial controls across corporate operations and branch locations.

  • Identify financial risks, process inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Conduct accounting reviews, transaction testing, and financial process evaluations.

  • Document findings, recommend corrective actions, and follow through to ensure improvements are effective.

  • Support external accountants and auditors by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to information requests.

  • Promote consistency, accountability, and sound financial practices throughout the organization.

Improve Systems & Reporting

  • Serve as a key accounting resource for Sage Intacct, helping maximize the effectiveness of our financial management system.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and reduce manual processes.

  • Evaluate financial reporting structures, transaction coding, and system integrations to improve accuracy and consistency.

  • Troubleshoot accounting system issues and coordinate solutions with internal teams and external support partners.

  • Assist with testing, documenting, and implementing approved system improvements.

  • Develop and maintain reliable financial reports using Sage Intacct, Microsoft Excel, and related reporting tools.

Turn Financial Data Into Meaningful Insights

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports for individual locations and the organization as a whole.

  • Evaluate revenue, gross margins, operating expenses, inventory trends, and working capital.

  • Provide actual-to-budget and prior-period comparisons to help leadership understand business performance.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial planning initiatives.

  • Develop and improve management reporting dashboards and key performance indicators.

  • Utilize Microsoft Power BI, where applicable, to create financial dashboards and reporting tools that support business decisions.

  • Collaborate with accounting and operational leadership to translate financial information into practical recommendations.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate is a skilled accounting professional who combines strong technical knowledge with curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

You enjoy digging into the details, solving problems at their source, and finding better ways to get things done. You're equally comfortable working independently, collaborating with colleagues, and explaining financial information to individuals outside the accounting department.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with substantial accounting coursework, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification and relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or audit experience.

  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end closing.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting principles.

  • Experience evaluating internal controls, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Experience improving ERP-based accounting processes and financial reporting.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, data validation, and Power Query or comparable data transformation tools.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively across departments.

  • High level of integrity, accountability, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active CPA license strongly preferred; CMA or CIA credentials are also valued.

  • Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct, including financial reporting, dimensions, workflows, and process improvements.

  • Experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Power BI dashboards, including Power Query, data modeling, and DAX.

  • Experience in both public accounting and corporate accounting environments.

  • Accounting experience within a multi-location organization, particularly vehicle dealerships, distribution, inventory, installation, or service operations.

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and KPI reporting.

  • Experience leading accounting improvement projects, reviewing financial work, or training colleagues.
