Senior AI Voice Agent Engineer

We're looking for a Senior/Lead AI Voice Agent Engineer with 4+ years of strong software engineering experience and proven hands-on experience building production Voice AI / AI Calling systems, not basic chatbots or simple AI integrations. You should be able to *independently architect and build a Retell/Vapi-like voice AI platform capable of handling *100+ concurrent outbound calls, real-time conversations, call transfers, and high-volume dialling.

Responsibilities:

• Real-time AI voice agents for outbound/inbound calls.
• Scalable STT, LLM, and TTS pipelines.
• Telephony integrations using Twilio, SIP, WebSockets, Voice APIs.
• Call transfer/escalation, interruption handling, turn-taking and fallback logic.
• High-concurrency, low-latency calling infrastructure.
• Event-driven backend with webhooks, queues and workers.
• Call analytics, logging, monitoring and dispositions.
• Production deployment and scaling on AWS/GCP/Azure.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python, FastAPI/Flask, asyncio.
• Strong experience in WebSockets and real-time streaming.
• Experience with Twilio/SIP/telephony/media streams.
• Proficiency in Deepgram, ElevenLabs, OpenAI/Azure Speech or similar.
• Knowledge of OpenAI/Anthropic LLMs, agents and tool calling.
• Strong problem-solving with Redis/Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MongoDB.
• Docker/Kubernetes and cloud deployment.
• Distributed systems and concurrency optimisation.
