GeneralSummaryofDuties

SurgicalTechnologists,alsoknownasScrubTechnologists,SurgicalTechnicians,or OperatingRoomTechnicians,assistinsurgicalproceduresunderthedirectionandsupervisionofsurgeons,registerednurses,andothersurgicalpersonnel.

As a vital member of the operating room team, the Surgical Technologist helps ensure a safe, efficient,andsterileenvironmentbefore,during,andaftersurgicalprocedures.Operatingroomteamscommonlyincludesurgeons,anesthesiologists,CRNAs,registerednurses,andsurgicaltechnologistsworkingcollaborativelytoprovideexceptionalpatientcare.

Education,Experience&Requirements

Required

• GraduateofanaccreditedSurgicalTechnologistprogram.
• CurrentCertifiedSurgicalTechnologist(CST)certification,asrequiredbystateregulations.
  • Individualswhoqualifyunderapplicablestategrandfatheringprovisionsmaybeexemptfromcertificationrequirements.
• CurrentBasicLifeSupport(BLS)certification.

Preferred

• One(1)totwo(2)yearsofclinicalexperienceinanoperatingroomsetting.
• Candidateswithzero(0)totwo(2)yearsofrelatedclinicalexperiencemaybeconsidered.
