Senior Developer

Svitla Systems Inc., is looking for a Senior Developer for a full-time position in Mexico.

You will build enterprise applications on OutSystems, working in joint teams with OutSystems Professional Services. You will develop features end to end, from data model and logic through to user interface and integrations.

AI experience is very important for this role. You will build AI features into applications, use AI coding tools well, and share practical AI engineering experience with the wider team.

This role is part of a dedicated Svitla team engaged under a 12-month agreement to deliver OutSystems projects for customers, working as one team with OutSystems Professional Services consultants and typically aligned to US business hours. Knowledge sharing runs both ways: you will learn OutSystems delivery practices directly from OutSystems Professional Services, and you will share your own knowledge and experience with them, in particular in AI.

Prior OutSystems experience is not required. We will provide structured training at the start of the engagement, covering OutSystems 11 (O11) and OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC) development, integrations and custom code, and OutSystems AI capabilities, with a path from developer certification to more advanced certifications, followed by hands-on learning on live projects. Experience with other low-code platforms is of great benefit but is not mandatory.

Requirements

• Experience building and shipping features that use LLM APIs, such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, and vector search.
• Experience with agents, tool calling, and multi-step AI workflows.
• Experience with prompt engineering, structured outputs, and context management.
• Experience testing and evaluating AI outputs, and handling failures safely.
• Daily use of AI coding assistants.
• Significant professional development experience in one or more of C#/.NET, Java, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience in web application development, including front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a framework such as React).
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and system integration.
• Experience with SQL and relational data modeling.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Experience debugging and resolving production issues.
• Ownership of work from design through to production.
• High engineering standards and attention to detail.
• Fast learning: the ability to become productive on new platforms quickly.
• Clear communication with developers, testers, and business stakeholders.
• Collaboration across company boundaries, working as one team with OutSystems Professional Services.
• Fluent professional English, written and spoken.
• Based in Mexico, with the ability to work US business hours.

Will be a plus

• Development experience on one or more enterprise low-code platforms, such as Microsoft Power Platform, Mendix, Appian, ServiceNow App Engine, Salesforce Platform, or Pega.
• Understanding of how low-code changes delivery: faster prototyping, model-driven development, and the trade-offs between platform features and custom code.
• Any prior exposure to OutSystems 11 (O11) or OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC).
• Experience with mobile application development.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or comparable orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and tool integration.
• Experience with cloud development on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in regulated industries, such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, or government.
• Cloud or AI engineering certifications.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build web and mobile applications on OutSystems once trained: data models, business logic, and Reactive user interfaces.
• Build integrations with enterprise systems and APIs.
• Create reusable components and follow agreed architecture standards.
• Estimate and deliver work items reliably within sprints.
• Build AI features: LLM API integration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agents, tool calling, and structured outputs.
• Write and refine prompts and manage context.
• Build evaluation tests, guardrails, and monitoring for AI features.
• Use OutSystems AI capabilities, such as Mentor and AI Agent Workbench, and integrate external AI services where they fit better.
• Take part in code reviews, giving and receiving feedback constructively.
• Write automated tests and support quality assurance and user acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot performance and production issues.
• Document code, components, and decisions.
• Use AI coding tools, such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, productively and responsibly, with human review of generated code.
• Share effective AI-assisted development practices with the joint team.
• Work as one team with OutSystems Professional Services developers and consultants.
• Mentor other developers and contribute to shared component libraries.
• Demonstrate AI techniques and lessons learned in team sessions.
